Why does this problem only exist in the NBA?

No other league has a premier franchise that just gets gifted generational talent like this.

This does not happen to the Yankees or Cowboys, and if it did it would be a big problem.

The NBA has to step in at some point to retain some credibility.

The "people always talk when they're on top" jab at Booker and this beer moment made me a fan of his

Insane cope, Luka's getting down to 225 now that he's on a real team. Same thing with Zion, he's in the NBA for the lifestyle and the fame, if the Knicks drafted him he wouldn't ever he a pound above 255.

As infuriating as it is, most of the prior superstars came in fairly. You can't stop LeBron and Shaq from being attracted to the glitz, glamour and spotlight that comes with the Lakers.

This one reeks of absolute f**kery. It's like Doncic was only available to the Lakers, nobody else was even given a chance to bid. I could understand trading him, but giving him away like this...holy s**t.

WOW! I saw this yesterday during the Rockets game and didn’t think much of it, other than another poster wanting attention. But it was real enough for me to check NBA, ESPN, and other sources - and yep, not a peep.

You would think the Mavs would get at least three first-round picks for this. What a fleece.

For those wondering about Cuban doing this, he sold the majority stake to the Adelsons in 2023. Doubt he’s involved unless he divorced his wife.

Maybe Luka is going to retire from NBA bc he wants to go back to Europe at some point before 30 years old and Lakers think they can convince him to stay? Idk..i'm still just completely floored and yet at the same time...i know the script. It's the Lakers. They always get to do this. Someone ALWAYS helps them. The Lakers have so many obvious under the table deals through NBA history.

This is the most absurd NBA trade I've seen in at least 10 years, maybe 20 years. Definitely one of the worst trades in NBA history. My god, WTF is Dallas thinking??

This makes zero sense. If Luka was on the trade block there should be huge demand. Wouldn’t the Rockets have offered FVV, Green, Cam, Reed, PHX picks, etc? Likely anything but Amen and Sengun.

This is like if we traded Harden in 2016 and kept Dwight Howard and pretended we were in "win now" mode
