Didn’t want to start a new thread about this - but who was the better band from Minnesota- Husker Du or the Replacements? They are both great but I am going to go with Husker Du.

Those bands really don't have much to do with each other. Both are great but it's the Replacements for me, by light years...

I was bored and found this thread - loved how it went from something insipid by Fatso into the thing that he disdained the most - music that wasn’t country or AC/DC!

@Mango - I liked the direction of folk rock and singer songwriter and let’s keep that going:

    Great question!

I’m gonna have to go with Husker Du. The Replacements win on maybe top two songs but overall catalogue has to go to HD IMO.

7th grade (1989-90)…I’m listening to stuff like GNR, Metallica, hair bands, starting to get into classic rock and for my 13th birthday my older sister sends me a mixed tape from college on east coast filled with songs from HD, The Replacements, Jane’s Addiction, Sonic Youth, Drivin N Cryin, Dinosaur Jr, Lemonheads, Soul Asylum, Pixies

Best mixtape ever and I wore it out. Set the tone for my musical preferences ever since..:
