I didn't realize that. I'd love to have Kyrie here and would give up Reed Shephard as the talent exchange plus our expiring contracts. I don't think the Mavs are blowing it up though because they acquired Anthony Davis and that's a move to keep them competitive now. Maybe they expand the deal and send Davis somewhere else. He'd fit in really nicely in OKC.
I realize it won't happen by the following trade is legal. Mavs send Kyrie Irving, Dwight Powell and Jaden Hardy to the Rockets i.e. Reed Shephard, Steven Adams, Jae'Shawn Tate and Jeff Green. Kyrie instantly solves every offensive weakness on the Rockets roster. He is brilliant directing the offense but just as good playing off-ball. Elite 3-point shooting and elite closing. Another super-high IQ vet on the roster. Kyrie and FVV would be a really small backcourt defensively but i think it would still work. I know it won't happen but I would love it.
Imagine mavs could literally gotten the motherload of first round picks trading luka and jump start the rebuilding process. Instead they traded him to a western conference rival for Jack sht. Like what is the gameplan? U are gonna have to get past the Lakers to win a ring, for the next decade. Teams would have given away everything for luka, Dallas gm didn't even bother to ask around to raise the price. This is collusion or some stinky bs. No fking way this was the best yield u can get for a player like luka.
Kyrie is just Damian Lillard who got to play with Lebron. He is old and injury prone why we would want him makes zero sense.
I think they better off getting AD. They dont need Luka they have SGA. I can see them giving Mavs Chet and a ton of picks in a 3 team trade with Lakers and it would have more sense for both OKC and Mavs.
This trade makes no sense. The Mavs gave up a proven mega superstar player for an aging (often injured) center and just 1 1st round pick?! Almost seems like Lebron owns the NBA and having it his way with the league.
This is so stupid. The only way I'll believe this is not collusion is if we discover Luka Doncic is an alcoholic or addicted to cocaine. That's the only way I can imagine someone being satisfied with AD and a useless FRP.
Maybe I'm just full of cope but I think Lebron and Luka would go crazy this season and then Lebron would shelve his retirement plans next year. Maybe he knew something since he said this last month:
Dame Lillard would also improve our team immensely. The logic is that either Kyrie or Dame would substantially improve our odds of winning the NBA Championship over the next several years. I think Kyrie would be the better fit though for several reasons- he's two years younger than Dame he has much more experience playing off-ball he's a better 3-point shooter Kyrie is less of a defensive liability If the price is Reed Shephard and our expiring contracts, it would make no sense to not make the trade. I don't actually know the price but I'd make the offer while the Mavs front office is currently psychotic.
I'm the "the league can't be colluding that much" guy. I don't think the refs are as bad as people say. This is something else though. This is making me like the NBA brand less in general. Something doesn't add up, everyone can tell.
Yeah this feels like it needs outside investigators as this has to be the most corrupt potential of anything I’ve ever seen in the NBA outside of refereeing scandals.
So the NBA freaked out yrs ago and instituted a new rule where you can't trade #1 picks in consecutive years because of the dumba$$ Cleveland owner (Stepien), however, they have NO problem with a team trading away a 25 yr old face of the NBA (Globally) for this ridiculous package which only included ONE 1st rd pick AND they didn't even talk to any other franchise to see what they would offer (spoke just to the Lakers)??? And they wonder why ratings are down and millions of people have stopped following the NBA and many accuse the league of being rigged. They stepped in to stop the Paul trade yrs ago but won't do jack about this crazy trade. Alright then.
The thing that is super fishy is that they didn't talk to any other franchise. If you have an asset like Doncic, why woild you not try to get thr best possible deal? On the plus side, I'm glad OKC didn't get Doncic for their gazillion draft picks.
