I think they will if he demands out this summer if this AD trade fails. Mavs didn't want to lock him up long term, so I think he will be available to the highest bidder or if we have a player they want. We thought Dallas would never trade Luka for AD and a pick either, I wouldn't put anything past them at this point.

 

pretty sure they pulled a Kyle Tucker, he was up for a supermax contract this summer, which would be 5 years 345 mil i believe and they didn't want to go there so they traded him. If AD is healthy, DAL is prob still a playoff team.

I think the circumstances around the Luka trade were independent from what the team would normally do. I don't think they just call one team and offer Kyrie only to them. There is likely more to this Luka trade and Nico's relationship to Nike and Lebron. You never know, that is why i added in the "or if we have a player they want". I can not imagine when it comes time to rebuild that they just call one team for each player and make a deal.

More than likely Luka wanted to go to the Lakers and made it clear to Mavs he is not resigning. On top of that, his reps told every other team he has zero interest and since he’s been injured this year, they weren’t even getting a rental…my two cents.

Not really. They have good defenders on the team scoring and playmaking is actually their problem. What I mean is their good defenders cant score so they need to play bad defenders.

Luka can turn trash into treasure so guys like Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent and DFS will be more effective.
