NBA had to offer them to take this trade to save the NBA’s ratings and they would get flagg Now they’re going to magically tank and get the pick
We all know this is a lie. He's gonna need to come up with a better reason than this. They could have picked up the phone and called plenty of other teams and got a defensive player, another good player and even more picks. The bidding war for Luka would have been historic. There is a reason why he was traded to the Lakers.
Still doesn't make sense why not dangle the opportunity to 28 other teams where they can get better compensation and a ton of potential picks. No matter how the Mavs and Nico paint it, there is definitely something shady here

Dallas owners just cheap and dont want to pay 2nd apron and they also dont want to tank. In the short term like maybe 2 yrs this makes them better lmao. They would be like juiced Wolves from last year with AD, Gafford, Lively and PJ Washington. They still have Kyrie and Klay to provide scoring. Their main issue all these players are old and they lost their franchise star which would have kept them relevant for the next decade. By 2029 all they will have is Lively and washed dudes. Good for us though we own their swap.
This may have been true as a young Lebron, but as an older Lebron, they just got a great passer and scorer at the guard spot and Lebron can roam around whatever other position he wants with his 40 year old self still collecting near-triple doubles if he wants. They have 2 of the elite passers and "thinkers" of the game now. Whether that makes up for the loss of losing AD, I don't know, but I guess we'll see.
This sounds like absolute horseshit. Owners are in it to make money as well and you are telling me they ok'd trading the face of their franchise because he is fat? He's played the majority of his games in his career. This isn't like Zion Williamson that has sat out the majority of his career. I want to know what's in it for the Mavericks ownership? Forget whatever Rich Paul and LeBron and Nike and Nico. Did Adam come to the Mavs owners and hold them hostage? You can't explain this away with conditioning issues when you are trading for a player that usually gets injured and misses 30 to 40 percent of his games.
Then trade Kyrie lol. Kyrie still has value in this league since he has behaved since being traded to the Mavs. You don't just trade away your franchise player. This makes zero sense.
