Patience, Reed isn't on a Stephen Silas everyone plays while we tank team. He needs to play, but he is going to have to earn it on our team and right now he is the odd man out. So is cam, for that matter. DD
I didn't say it was "special", I said shooting 40% from 3 with 3 STOCKS in 15 minutes is a hell of a lot more than you got from Holiday who shot 16% from 3 and did basically nothing else.
Holiday with 1/6 Reed with 2/6 You are trying hard to find brght spots for Reed. 2 steals 1 blocks is good though.
Hae best plus/minus today by far. Had 3 stocks in 15 minutes. He served his role for once. Overall a light step up for Reed. I do wonder if he's being kept on the big club as a possible trade piece. Keeping him shelved not playing, to not risking him looking worse with play time.
2/6 overall for 6 points AND 3 STOCKS. 40% from 3, while being one of only 2 players with a positive +/- vs 1/6 for 3 points, 16% from 3, doing nothing else of consequence and being a -12 while on the court. Pretty much the same, right? I think the question here is why are you trying to hard to downplay the performance of one of the only guys who showed up to play tonight? Is that you Ime?
We're talking about a palyer who has been given basically no opportunity this season....and when he finally got back in the game, he played well.....even if you don't know what that looks like.
Just be aggressive when you’re out there. If you’re gonna do cardio and just pass and “I don’t want to step on any toes” and “just make the right play”, yeah why would Ime play you? Let that **** fly. If you’re gonna be benched (anyways), go down swinging. Spoiler ”We can’t play Reed because we’re in win now mode.” “Rockets not expected to make any deadline moves because they want to see what they have.” “Rockets can’t move on from Fred next year because they have no one to step in & no other good options.” “We can’t play Reed because we’re in win now mode.” … “Rockets can’t move on from Fred because they have no one to step in & no other good options.” … “We can’t play Reed because we’re in win now mode.” … “Rockets can’t move on from Fred because they have no one to step in & no other good options.” … “We can’t play Reed because we’re in win now mode.” … “Rockets can’t move on from Fred because they have no one to step in & no other good options.”
If he played 40 minutes he would be on pace for 15 shots. That is a good amount for a rookie on a good team. I’m confused
When he's on the floor without Fred, he should be the ball handler. Tell him to do something with the ball. Playing him off ball makes him more passive.
The one silver lining tonight was Reed outplayed Holiday and earned minutes down the stretch. He played tough on both sides of the ball and even looked for his own shot. One of the big things I still saw this game was that he still fears taking shots on late closeouts. He will pump fake and dribble into a crowd only to be cut off and be forced to pass out. That is the shot he will have to take his entire career. So, he should get used to it. Maybe he was at other levels but I don't see him as the guy that consistently scores off the bounce in the lane. He needs to get comfortable shooting set shots with bodies flying at him.
He is looking more and more like a high end role player when his shot comes around but doesn't show flashes other than in Gleague games.
he has to find minutes hes not getting minutes due to FVV and arron holiday and he behind a lot of other good players so glad he is getting a chance to learn and grow his game give him a chance hes behind talent
I never want to see Holiday play again. There is no justification for playing a career journeyman who won’t be on the team soon over your 20 year-old 3rd pick who is arguably just as good (or bad) right now with much higher upside.
