Starting lineup? C - Sengun PF - Jabari SF - Brooks SG - Amen PG - Green If you have been looking at the last few games, Jalen has been slowly transitioning into the starting PG position; bringing the ball up, setting up plays, playmaking, etc. With the news of FVV working on an extension, which will be lesser than his current contract and define his new role, along with Amen flourishing in the starting lineup, I can see this happening once Jabari gets back. Amen is not going to the bench and Jabari is too valuable rebounding and defensively to come off the bench
Imagine giving the player who can't handle the slightest pressure past the 3 point line, the ball more in that situation.
If we talking next season.. it’s probably more Amen / FVV Green / Reed Tari / Cam Jabari / Brooks Sengun / Adams I think FVV and Brooks gonna give it up that starting spot. Amen, Tari, and Cam are gonna want the ball (Amen) and to start or ask for a trade somewhere they will
and? As a SG … his TOs are less than majority of his peers and his AST would be a lot higher if Alpi wasn’t missing the bunnies he sets him up for in PnR or if Brooks would hit the higher clip of 3s
Jalen and amen can walk the ball up the court but it's gonna b amen and senhub as the primary playmaker with green occasionally making the extra pass to an open shooter
It's gonna be much harder for Green to be PG because Green is face guarded off ball and opposing teams try to deny him the ball aggressively throughout the game because for some reason they don't want him to have the ball. Weird.
Nah, unfortunately Jalen and Amen are not yet ready to handle playoff level defenses as starting guards but that could change by the end of the season who knows. Leaps seem to be a thing on this roster now every other month. I much much much prefer off-ball FVV in the starting lineup with them. It's perfect, he guards the POA really well, good off ball shooter when he's not hero-balling and he's a safe pair of hands when we need to settle the F down for a minute. Brooks is just guarding the guy Jabari would guard. FVV is guarding the smaller/quicker scorers. Amen the wings or dynamic PF's. Brooks is a 4 who can't rebound and is bad in transition. Shooting great though so he's a net positive for us. I don't think he should lose his spot as long as he's shooting this well. I have a feeling we go into the playoffs with our current starting lineup because Ime will prefer his toughness even though Jabari gets double the rebounds and double the stocks and guards PF's just as well as Brooks. I hope not. I hope we go with my favorite lineup lol Sengun Jabari Amen Green FVV With Jabari and FVV taking a ton of off ball catch and shoot 3's. Would love to have that going into the playoffs. I need Jabari to see that **** gets real real if he doesn't toughen up slightly lol. I love Jabari but I think he grew up pretty easy and sometimes those kids need to get elbowed by a couple of vets in the playoffs before they get to the appropriate controlled aggression level for basketball.
More ready for... Amen Jalen Green Cam Whitmore (bucket per minute) Tari (Terror Twin) Sengun...... ** **Jabari [ backup Center.....defends the Big Bigs already so Sengun doesn't have to exert energy on defense]
Jalen's the best at high risk high reward situations. If we're solely talking about ball security, which in my opinion is very crucial for a point guard, I take Fred and Holiday over him.
I mean that was what I believe also. Ya Fred and Holiday are the only ones who have more secure handles on the squad. Green takes more risks definitely. He'll try to split doubles while going behind the back and that can lead to a turnover or a highlight play but I'm okay with trying these things because eventually he will be more secure in those more risky attempts.
his last few games haven’t been very good. If that sample is supposed to represent his point guard transition I’m not seeing it. He’s played better on-ball to be sure, but I don’t see Jalen in the point guard role and I still think he needs to have a great second half of the season before folks proclaim him worth keeping. I’ve been impressed with his play since mid December but I want to see him keep it up. The reality is that it’s been about 20something good games and 20something bad games. Glad he’s trending in the right direction; glad the shooting has improved…need to see things continue.
