If we are going to get a backup center, Okongwu should be the target. He can do most of what Capela does plus can hit occasional outside shot. And he's much cheaper.

I think Adams is gone. We should be looking for the backup 5 for next year, this year, like we did last trade deadline to acquire Adams. Adams provides value but not enough to give him a 4yr contract. Hes likely worth the BAE or vet. min. at this point imo.

I don't think they would give him up - His timeline is longer
in fact he is probably the reason Capela is available (or maybe available)

We are talking a SRP or 2 and matching salary. We are guranteed not to have him if we don't trade for him and we are guaranteed to pay the matching salary to others who won't play if the Rockets have a chance of winning in the playoffs. I'd say a SRP or 2 is worth a 5% chance that he plays and becomes and expiring contract next year. if costs more than that, sure be up in arms.

On next year, I just want the salary, and any playing time is just a bonus. Rockets will be running thin on contracts they are willing to trade next year.

Robert Williams available for 40 games is better than Landale for 82.

Jabari provides what Vucevic does and he is good on D.

What about 17? Still better than Landale? He actually hasn't played 40 games the past 3 years smh.

Don’t undersell Williams….he can be major piece of a Finals contender. He’s the Tari Eason of centers (of course he also plays as much as Eason).

I’d chance it. Landale limitations last night were tk consequential. He had butter fingers and his toughest insider isn’t enough. He’s also not a good rebounder

If he is that good why did Celtics trade him? Portland thought he was good but even they are shopping him now. Even drafted Clingan as replacement.

Williams has more upside than any of our backup centers and has performed well in the playoffs, being a key role player in Ime's final appearance with the Celtics.

Landale actually played decent in his playoff debut so I'm good with whomever, but if we're talking about a Third String center I'm willing to gamble for upside to advance in the post season personally.

Yeah we do. You just cut Nate Williams and then pick him up in the G-League.

    2. Sheppard
    3. Holiday
    4. Jalen

    5. Whitmore

    11. Sengun
    12. Adams
    13. Landale
    14. Williams
    15. Dante

    Stacked team.

P.S. - I would LOVE to add Ace Bailey to this squad! Wish the Rockets could find a way to get him in the draft.

    • Lob threat
    • Quick enough to switch out on the perimeter and hold his own
    • Familiar with Udoka
    • Two year deal - no long term cap impact and given we are operating as an over the cap team, it’s better than allowing deals to expire
