One of my best friends is a white guy that had zero problems getting a job as air traffic control during the Obama years. Granted, he left that job in less than a year because it sucked and went to work for Delta.
I know Trump is prone to hyperbole and bluster, but his remarks yesterday are at the least very disappointing. So many here in this forum are so busy trying pin this on someone or something, DEI, understaffing and so on. Let us please remember that 67 people lost their lives less than 48 hours ago. Families have been devastated Let's let this play out and get a full investigation before we officially begin pointing fingers. None of us know what actually happened yet. Thats all.
It's never too early to ask questions about why this happened. I'm not blaming anyone, but it does point to a potential danger just doing blanket hiring pauses and spending freezes. My gut feeling is it was intentional by the helicopter pilot. Really weird to me that they run drills right through the landing zone of the airport like this.
It is all good to ask questions. It's the premature finger pointing that makes me a bit sad. No one will ever be able to say any Air Traffic controller has not put in the time to slide into a position. I suspect Deb knows a lot about training for such a position. I would love to get her knowledge on the subject. I think we all have theories, but I suspect we may never know what truly happened. I'm just sad for those that perished, the families devastated, and pissed the Trump instead of being a consoling leader wants to start a finger pointing campaign.

There is usually a purpose for what Trump says and does. It isn't always clear or 100% on target or factual -- but unlike some critics believe, he usually has a reason (even if not valid) for what he says and does. He is not a stupid man - he is clever, just intellectually lazy often.
