All this does is give Bregman more leverage

Well, there goes Polanco. Wonder if we have a backup plan for Breggy or will we roll with the AAA guys.
Interesting that Polanco is returning to Seattle after his down year there.

How about Grichuk? Had decent numbers last year. Would be cheap and decent outfielder

With Polanco off the board, the Astros’ attention will turn toward a reunion with Bregman, which general manager Dana Brown has described as a “long shot.” Houston is also exploring trades for another outfielder but still has its longstanding six-year, $156 million offer out to Bregman. The Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs remain in play for Bregman, according to two league sources.

Is Verdugo too expensive? I really wanted Santander, our outfield is abysmal. Would settle for Hayward at least, but dang.

If they don’t sign Bregman I’d just as soon they give Trammell 200 pa to see what he can do before calling up Dezenzo or Melton. If Heyward or Canha wants to take <$5M or Gamel or Grichuk wants to take a NRI deal then that’s cool too, but I don’t expect any remaining free agent OF to significantly outperform a mix of Dezenzo/Melton/Meyers/Dubon/McCormick/Trammell/Hummel.

Good! This guy sucks & Mariners overpaid!

Like it or not, Astros hold the line on their value for players (including Correa & Bregman). And after getting burned on Abreu & Montero - they will never overpay again!

Let’s wait and see how the Walker contract plays out. I expect that to be a decent deal but I was also pretty stoked about Abreu. Hader deal could also easily turn sour.

It would nice for Dezenzo and Whitcomb to get AAA OF reps at the start of the season to see what their possibilities are.

Dodger people are saying we may try to trade for Brazier since he was DFA’d today. They were thinking Ullola would be the return. If that is true we better be getting Outman as well.

Troubling that the OF we have can't beat out Meyers and Dubon.

Did anyone see the Whitesox tried to trade Luis Robert to the Reds for Edwin Arroyo? He's like MLB #92 prospect. That doesn't seem that high of an ask. Would Brice Matthews be too much? Or someone else we could match. That dude would instantly be our best outfielder. With the protection in our lineup I think he would do well.

I believe if given the chance Dezenzo could. Can he play RF?

Grichuk is who I would be looking to bring home.
