Agree. The coaches made the selection. They know what they have faced in Sengun and how they used some version of the Jordan Rules against him every time. Alpi's stats would be much better if teams had not been designing their whole defensive schemes against him every time they play against the Rockets. They know he deserves the all-star accolade based on his game alone. The fact that the Rockets are in second place helped tremendously, of course, but that ranking has shown how much impact Alpi has had on the Rockets' winning season.
Kings fans are mad at the wrong guy. It should be Wemby that they should be questioning. His team doesn't have a winning record, and I really don't care if they would suck more without him, he doesn't deserve the all star nod, just like he doesn't deserve to be DPOY. The league is pushing hard to make him the next golden boy.
We cannot only be mad at Silas. Stone and company attempted to make KPJ the franchise player which led to Bruno getting the starting nod that year. Stone is getting a pass because he has built a good team since then, but boy oh boy, if that KPJ incident doesn't happen. Rockets were too in love with that women beater.
