Cam + Jock works, but you have to sweeten up the kool aid a little bit. I'd love to bring White off the bench as a super 6th man, but not sure he would be cool with it. Maybe FVV goes to the bench. Either way I think avoiding the huge contract Fox will be looking for with a slightly lesser player, but better shooter would be ideal for roster management as White is under a sweetheart contract for a few more years.
There are a lot of pros and cons to trading for White and one of them is 48 minutes of great pg play now and either FVV replacement or a little leverage on FVV new contract. Easier for us to not budge on a price when we already have a starting-level PG. I don't think we'll overpay for FVV anyways, but this could help
Don't do us like this...I got on Clutchfans, and the first thread i see is "Codman bomb". Got excited just to see a post from a week ago lol. The deadline is in six days, there will be news soon enough. Hopefully the Jimmy domino falls soon so the rest of the league can start shuffling their cards.
Just want to add that FVV has been massive on our stage 2 of the rebuild and me wanting White isn't a knock on FVV
Stewart checks off a lot of boxes and fits well with our hard-nosed style of play. Teams already hate playing against us. Adding another physical player and agitator like Stewart leans into that. It’s pretty obvious we’re trying to move Jock and better utilize his roster spot. The shoe fits, but in no way, shape or form should this type of move involve Cam. Also, there’s no chance Ausar is on the table. Detroit is watching Amen’s breakout moment right now and thinking his brother could do the same thing.
but has not and may never. Ausar's trade value may never be higher. Marcus Sasser + Ausar for Cam plus Tate Green the Elder.
Stewart’s interesting. Obviously Jock ain’t gonna get that done. I’m not seeing what non-Cam move they’d be interested in. Agreed Stewart is not remotely worth Cam. What kind of deal do u think would work?
He's a pretty quiet guy - I heard his interviews were some of the worst teams had seen. I don't think the character concerns were because he seemed like a bad guy - I don't think he talks a lot and it came off as disinterested or worse yet standoff-ish in the interviews. FWIW, my brother in law drives celebrities around and has been Cam's driver many times when he comes through Austin and San Antonio. He sees A LOT of bad behavior from many of his passengers but he said Cam seems like a legit good kid and he's normally a pretty good judge of character.
Cam has the "IT" factor and the belief, he is going to be really good because of that. Don't trade guys like that, ever. DD
...yeah but didn't Motiejūnas single handedly win us a game when he fell on the floor and created a wet spot that the other team's PG slipped on, turned the ball over, and Houston ultimately won because of?
I am still on the fence about Cam's potential stardom so many here already believe in. I'm kind of leaning toward the down side simply because DD is so high on him. That's probably one of the best scouting indicators you can get.
Neither of those guys had what Cam has, they were role players. And your argument is based upon a fallacy to begin with....interesting that you joined a year ago - what was your name before you were banned and snuck back in....REPORTED! Check this guys IP..... 1. VSpan - I just wanted him to get a chance to play because Rafer sucked, never said he was great, or would be...just wanted to see, he got us Scola so that worked out great. 2. Dmo was a solid role player, and the Rox screwed him, he sued, won the suit (got a significant settlement) and his career is still going strong, so much for that back issue, eh Morey? But he was just a role player too. Cam is different, he plays with force, will and belief, and other players shy away from contact like our own Jalen Green....Cam explodes through it. He can do everything on the court, he just needs playing time to unlock it, and he needs maturity......you don't trade guys like that, unless you are getting a YOUNG Superstar back. Cam is a keeper - for me, WAY over Jalen Green. Annoying, and wrong - do you like Amen? I had him 2 on my board, just ask Clutch, said Scoot was going to take years to develop, would have taken Mobley over Jalen (still would) Keegan over Jabari (Same).....and was one of the first on Yao - what people confuse my takes for is listed above, I like role players that fit and get into them, but they are interchangeable with better fit players.....Cam right now, is instant offense and immediately the other team has to adjust....that is such a unique and rare skill.....he has to be kept until we know for certain what he will be.....and he is cheap being the 20th pick.....we need cost savings to keep our core..... Keep Cam. DD
Fox is the domino that needs to fall because it will actually set a market price. Jimmy is pennies on the dollar and Miami will just take whatever suits them best to have him gone.
