Jock's contract was literally created to get traded. Jock + Tate + some second rounders for Robert Williams.
Why does that matter when Tate barely plays and Jock is DNP? If it works out, that's great for us. If it doesn't, who cares.

which backup 5 (which is our biggest need) is available for Jock and Tate and make around the same money?
I rather have a lob threat big and Olynyk hasn't had the cleanest bill of health either. we got some great passers in sengun, amen, fred and we haven't equipped them with not 1 lob threat big. it's insane.

If Williams was proven to be healthy I’d love to have him but we need players who will be on the floor.
Tate makes so many mistakes in games. Nearly 20% of the time I'm just like what are doing? No way you were coached to do that. The only question with trading Tate is who takes his minutes in the rotation. Ideally you want Eason take those, but he still has this lingering injury. Brooks has been slumping of late as well. If the hope was Jabari could take those minutes, he won't be back until late March. Maybe Whitmore who has shown more glimpses of defense awareness, fundamentals and passing; but that is a bet he will grow into that.
I don’t get the love for Cam Johnson. Always hurt. Questionable defense and most likely dependable only in the 2nd unit come playoff time. Ask is 2 firsts but multiple people (Jake Fischer Sam Vecenie etc) don’t think he’s worth a mediocre 2 firsts. And you guys want to trade Whitmore, who on most teams would instantly be their best prospect, for him?! I believe the calls for Whitmore are one way. Of course teams are going to be interested in the “seemingly unhappy” Whitmore. But I think Rockets intention is mostly DD. Also Whitmore’s low cap hold is an underrated factor for keeping him here through his fourth year.
Trade Jock Landale, he's only here because we couldn’t get Brook Lopez. We can also trade second round picks and the rights for anyone over seas…But thats it.
Could be interesting to do MIL a solid in the big ole Butler - Beal - LaVine - trade. We send Landale + Tate + SRP to MIL for Lopez. That gets Bucks below the 2nd apron so they can at least aggregate players in a trade.
Please don’t trade Whitmore. Hopefully he remains humble enough to make the most of the role he has, playing alongside more rounded out guys. Hopefully team success is important to him. I bet he’d absolutely explode as a starter on a bum team.
Cam Whitmore must be retained. Tate is clearly proving his value to Houston. Jock , Holiday and Uncle Jeff can be added with a future 1st , but who should be the target? A reliable 3 point shooter who can play some defense or pass the ball, is a must. Is Fox, Ime's dark horse star? That might be a possibility too. Stone might have a different opinion. Houston should stay away from Jimmy " Tomball" Butler.
