Jalen Green is not a leader of men, he is never ever going to be a superstar player. He will be a very good NBA player, sometimes all star, but not a superstar, he doesn't have that FIRE that pushes the greats. Nothing wrong with that, he is worth exactly what he is being paid...... DD
He looks pretty fired up to me when he's on. He isn't a natural rah-rah type of guy, but you can tell his teammates respect him. I wouldn't count him out as a future superstar just yet. He's still just 22.
Ime, the coach of the Rockets and someone who is around him every day has a different view of Jalen than DD does
Lol. DD that's a STRANGE compliment! It's like you're paying a compliment while grinding your teeth. Lol
But then who is the leader of men type of players in the NBA now days? Durant? He never was yet he’s a super star. Booker ? Ja morant? Ant? He’s out performing few of them at 22 so I’m good with that. It seems like you’re comparing him to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant type of breeds but then who else in the NBA is that type of player or mentality.
People underestimate how much ground this guy can cover in a flash. It's the long legs, the long arms, and the takeoff speed.
No, just trying to add a dose of reality, most SUPERSTAR players you can see it, pretty early on.....Jalen is a very good NBA player, but he just isn't a lead dog. That doesn't mean he sucks, it just means on a team with a superstar he plays 2nd fiddle. I like him, think he has made improvements this year, still hot and cold - but that is ok with this team. Current superstars: SGA Giannis Joker Luka Several aging out of Superstardom KD Curry Lebron Harden Kawhi Now it is about finding who is next. I would say Amen is that type more than Jalen. DD
I think it's more than just a lack of leadership. I think he makes some bad decisions and doesn't process the game particularly well. He has improved in that but not as much as I had hoped. I don't think he'll ever be an above-average defender for that reason despite the amazing athleticism. I hope he continues to improve and make better decisions on offense and improves his efficiency. Adding 10 lbs of muscle over the next few years should help him better finish through contact as well. I think he'll be our leading scorer for the next seven years and that will make him an important contributor on a four-time NBA championship team.
I think "leading scorer" will be a tossup between him and Cam Whitmore. Jalen is a better shot creator but Cam is probably the better scorer. I'm cool with giving Cam and Jalen another offseason and seeing which (if any) actually looks like a dependable consistent scorer next season.
Im not a "schtats" guy, but is making contested shots harder? Why didnt the "uncontested" guys pop off?
Can you translate this into English? What makes someone a better scorer but a worse shot creator? What do you mean?
The only explanation for this VC is that Jalen's 7 turnovers happened to be the exact 7 shots they were going to make in the future and by turning the ball over Jalen ruined it for them. It's just coincidences now you know.
Actually, Amen was number 2 on my draft board, behind Wemby, you can ask Clutch....but if I said I would have traded that pick for Zion before the draft.....well...duh....lol. DD
Sir those are two different things. I remember clearly you wanted to trade the pick and the whitmore pick for "proven" players. It's okay though I support your retroactive feelings!
