Jae'sean with a capable 3 pointer evolves from a fringe rotation piece to a valuable role player, glad to see his practice paying off so far.
If Tate has learned how to shoot 3s forget trading him, the Rockets should be extending him right now
Tate is the reason why Whitmore is not getting minutes, under Udoka everything is earned. Happy for Tate he's been playing well.
It was pretty low on Tate all last year and at the beginning of this season. My hope was that someone would play him out of the rotation but I've been pleasantly surprised at how well he's been playing! He's been playing very within himself and has been very consistent on offense. His defense has never been an issue...
Tate if he can stay healthy is great value for what he is getting paid, not surprised teams have reached out.
Well, Tate did not earn it himself, he had a good reputation and was a two, three year veteran, he has played few games last season.....cannot call that earning his spot. It was sheer clairvoyance.
Tate appreciation post. I love that he was on the original tanking team and gets to enjoy this season.
He is the perfect NBA depth piece if you are a contender. He can play multiple positions, constantly brings energy and solid play whenever his number is called and doesn't whine or pout when it isn't.
Tate was perfect last night. The rockets drought and the 11?-0 run against the rockets started when he was subbed out.
A team that is a top playoff seed typically spends a couple second rounders to get a player like Tate this time of year to bolster their depth for the playoff run. So it’s a real nice luxury to already have these guys like Tate, Holiday, Adams, and Jock where normally most teams wouldn’t. Tate isn’t much fun to watch nightly as a starter on a tanking team, but has a ton of value as a depth guy on a contending team. Same with Holiday. Glad Stone didn’t listen to me last season and kept him around. I was livid last year that they didn’t pick up 2nd rounders for him when they reported that’s what the value was in potential trades.
If there is such a thing, JST is a great 9th/10th man. He does not have huge ambitions for himself as a player, but just wants to contribute however, whenever he can. His contract is up this summer and he's probably a goner, but the $20M the Rockets invested in him was well spent.
The mark of a great team is role players, bench scrubs, stepping up when they get the opportunity. Tate, Adams, Holiday have each played contributing basketball whenever they have had their name called.
Why? Zeke is not even doing anything and Tate is giving us great minutes while some of our players are out injured. No way we should trade him away just for the sake of trading him away.
