Aaron Brooks said it 'a tough decision" to approve the trade. "Just the opportunity to play, that was the main factor."

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/the-rockets-might-pursue-one-type-of-trade-in-next-week-but-it-won-t-be-de-aaron-fox/ar-AA1y1D2S

There is, however, one scenario where an in-season trade during the 2024-25 campaign could make sense. Iko explains:

If the Rockets were to do any business between now and the Feb. 6 trade deadline, team sources say it would only be a marginal move that wouldn’t upset the current rotation. In such an occurrence, Houston would seek draft compensation (second-round picks) to take on additional salary. The Rockets have approximately $10.6 million in breathing room under the luxury tax and still possess their nontaxpayer midlevel exception, worth around $12.8 million, to use in a trade.

In this scenario, the Rockets would be using their space beneath the luxury-tax line — and perhaps their non-taxpayer mid-level exception — to essentially buy future draft compensation in exchange for taking on a contract that another team is looking to shed for financial reasons.

I’m all for using pre-existing threads, but we might need to have some ground rules.

I convinced my long ago that this team would not be making a significant trade at the deadline. We will use our exception to collect a pick or two, but that’s it.

For the first time in a while, I just thought of the possibility that Stone is showing bunt, but what if he takes a massive swing?

Fox to me is a perfect go get if you think Fred, Cam and Suns 1st are acceptable on kings side. Yet does he fit the timeline? It is sure upgrade big-time thou like everyone mentioned.

Yet if there going to get Williams from Portland might as well try to land Grant too.
