I'll save you the embarrassment of posting Curry stats during his first four years. You may want to go and look at them though and understand just how ridiculous a comparison Jalen to Curry in years 1-4 is.
Hey man I'll give you something to carry you over the night so you feel okay. I think Green is better than MJ. I hope I made you feel a little happier today by giving you something to work with so you can find other ways to **** on Green.
He's a little unique in that his physical gifts are far beyond most NBA players. But he's probably in that Josh Smith mold of "All Star upside" and "doesn't always have it between the ears". But he seems like a good kid and the vibes are great right now. I dont see him as more than our 3rd or 4th best player down the road still but he can win you games when he's on or against specific matchups. And as long as he plays defense I think Ime will live with that considering we have some other players that look to be ascending into superstardom that Jalen complements well.
If you think Green is set as a fourth option, let me just be frank. Then you need to trade him and picks for someone that is a first or second option. Who is rising on our team you trust to do something on the perimeter in a half court set against POA defenses? I obviously disagree. List all the 22 year old guards in league history that were leading scorers on 59 win pace teams in league history. All of them. It isn't that long.
I think he can be our first or second offensive option while being our third or fourth best overall player. I think Amen and Sengun are already better players than Jalen and I don't think that will change. I can imagine us trading for another good 2-way player who may be less of a scorer than Jalen but a better overall player. I'm hoping Jalen can continue to improve his handle, his passing and his decision-making. I think some improvement in his offensive efficiency would also be great. He'll probably never be a great defender though.
150 in a row because he knew if he got hurt he would be out of the starting lineup for good under ime.
I like Jalen, but he has a low iq which almost cost us the game tonight. What’s up with hoisting a 3 pointer from almost mid court with 21 seconds on the shot clock and just a few minutes left in the game???
Jalen is a good scorer, but being a good scorer does not make someone a good or franchise player. Sengun and Amen are our best players and this is not discussable in all metrics, whatever what metrics. Think about a team in a difficult conference, sits at #2 and this teams SG completes matches with 0 asists. Moreover, this teams center averages double asists than this teams SG-this is absurd and not normal. Jalen is a scorer yes, but does not take you to higher levels, my problem is his basketball iq is still limited. His forcings one and other was costing a game against Hawks. You can make a mistake, but what is the iq behind repeating the same mistake twice, three times ,four times in a Continuing time period.. This is stoopid..
Again, I enjoyed watching JG fight through struggle. He mostly kept good body language and turned a rough day around. I still think his biggest weakness is literally his physical weakness. He needs to get in the weight room and go from Kevin Martin to Vernon Maxwell. Get stronger.
I see a lot of the haters are back in this thread now that he’s had a off game and 7 TO game lol Usual Suspects
Do you not see it in Amen Thompson? Just look at Celtics game. Jalen struggled all night versus brown and holiday cuz of their physicality. He usually struggles against physical defenders. Amen bullies brown so bad on game winner he wasn't even in the picture. Amen is him. He can create offense for us going down hill already and he can't even shoot. Just imagine when he can shoot. And sengun post will end up being a better option. Cuz I have more faith he will develop a midrange and three point shot than I do of Jalen ever becoming consistent. He's so matchup dependent.
Being the first, second, or third option on this team can be situational. We are blessed with three guys that can originate the offense or take over games when situations dictate it. Jalen has done it mulitiple times. Sengun has done it multiple times, and now with opportunity Amen is showing he may actually be the best at it. I think this team continues to show that the players are playing for each other, unlike some of the clueless fans on this website.
That and just not being smart. He began the night taking 3 contested pull up jumpers for some odd reason and missed badly on all of them. And the. Ended the night by trying to iso Daniels twice in crunch time and got stripped twice. All these things are incredibly avoidable
He also has no situational awareness. Last night we up by 7 with 3 minutes left and he just dribbles up court and launches a 30 foot three and they go right back down and hit a layup. He has improved significantly this year, but I still feel SG is the one position we could make a major upgrade at that turns us into a championship team.
I don't think he'll ever be a high bbiq player, so you'll just have to hope his shooting is hot.... which is why I think ultimately he's more suited for a 6th man role. Someone you don't count on, but when they happen to be hot, they create blowouts for your team.... and when they aren't hot, you scale back the minutes so they don't kill your team. Now, his ego would never accept a role like that, do all we can do is hope he has a higher percentage of hot games going forward and that the guys around him can bail the team out when he's shooting the team out of games and acting as a walking turnover. The good news is that this team might have that level of talent.
ball got stolen couple times in 4th - one he was clearly fouled .. he took 1 early 3 and got cussed out by Ime… only other shot he took was the 3 on out of bounds play that was drawn for him to take under 6 sec folks complain about 0 assist but don’t look at the overall shooting numbers - he was kicking out to FVV who was building a brick house - he had nice passes to Alpi and Amen and they got shots blocked passes to Tate and Cam rarely end up in assist cause they often drive over catch and shoot - Cam will take a setup dribble 8x out of 10 the growth of JG is last year we lose this game and he doesn’t realize he could get to the rim at will
