Wiggins may be the best player the Heat could expect to get in return. I think Riley would jump at that just to get the distraction off his team.

We should wait till the last day then low ball them. The heat are going to be desperate because otherwise they aren't going to get anything at all when Jimmy leaves in free agency. He would be perfect here for our playoff run and if he demands 50 million we can just drop him and keep developing the core. Would be great playoff experience if we go deep.

The real question is who do we bench for Jimmy. A new headache emerges. He would be the closer that we are desperately missing on this team. Also he is a lock down defender.

FVV is such a good ball handler, but Jimmy would fit like you said. He has that dawg mentality that a lot of our guys possess. Also has finals experience, can handle the rock, clutch gene, top wing defender, bucket getter, pure vet in the league. He would be like the Jason Kidd version of the Dallas 2011 run.

You could bring him in here for just expiring players, and maybe Reed. That pushes us into the Luxury Tax next year, assuming Jimmy picks up his option. It really disrupts chances at future flexibility for the team, but if it wins you a championship this year or next it might be worth a shot.

Riley will not jump at the chance to lose $26M of his cap space in 2026. Wiggins is a no-go for the Heat. Riley would rather keep Jimmy on the team.

Its just hard to imagine Reed getting any more time to develop. This team is going to be a contender either next year or the year after if we aren't already a contender. Reed isn't going to get any playing time over FVV/Amen and there is no point in stashing picks if we are top 3 in the west every season.

Better to dump him while he still has value and hope Jimmy doesn't pick up his option then become a diva.

I wouldn't. The Rockets don't need to invest in cancer.

Amen isn't a PG, he's a SF, so Amen has nothing to do with Reed.... and FVV isn't going to be here much longer so you don't ball on his replacement simply because Udoka won't let him play right now.

You especially don't do that for a team cancer like Jimmy Butler.

Sheppard doesn't look any good and it might take 2-3 years for him to develop. I was high on him the entire season but after seeing him out there he looks really raw. We just beat the Celtics and the Cavs, if we add Jimmy to the core do we have a chance of winning it all this season?

I know Jimmy is cancerous though and he could mess this team up by picking up his option then crying.

Didn't realize Wiggins had another year after this one. Nothing to see here after all.

If all you saw was Amen's first few games as a rookie and then he wasn't allowed to play anymore, you'd say the same about him.

How would we be feeling if we traded him away halfway through his rookie season?

Also, adding Jimmy Butler to this team decreases their chances of winning a championship even if he came for free.

I don't see how the Rockets trade for Jimmy.

Despite Jimmy being a diva I know he would give it his all wherever he ends up. Him being a diva is just part of his play whenever he is looking for a trade. He did the same **** in Minni.

If we trade for Jimmy, we are likely parting with Dillon Brooks. There is no way you trade away FVV since he brings a lot of stability to this team. We are not going to be able to trade for someone else that helps us there, so FVV is out of the question.

Would you trade Dillon though? I been on the fence about it before. Dillon is who he is. His defense can be stellar at times, but as the season moves on, it always seems that he tends to move slower and can't defend his man as well. His offense can be steady at times, but he also goes into shooting slumps. At the same time, Dillon has been clutch at times giving us baskets at key moments a few times this season. He does have really good chemistry with our young guys, so trading him out, you are disrupting that synergy. All these guys know it's just business, but they are also still human. Dillon also gives us three point shooting which Jimmy does not. Jimmy would also need the ball more in his hands, so that means you are likely affecting Jalen Green/Amen Thompson/Sengun to keep Jimmy happy.

Jimmy is a team player though, so he isn't some selfish blackhole that would come and disrupt the team either, but there will be some adjustment. The returns could be very good though.

Personally, I rather keep Dillon, but lets see what happens. Under no circumstances am I okay with sending out any of our young players.

We make too many decisions after 1 good game. Dillon vs Jabari. I would rather keep Jabari. I keep hearing how valuable a $43M pg is that has 5 assists and 39% from the field. FVV disappeared last night and most nights. We need to turn that asset into something more valuable. He's just below career averages. I'm not impressed for $43M. We make a mountain of excuses for FVV that were never tolerated for Harden. I want Durant. Really look at Butler's numbers again.

Brooks and FVV are NOT the core or future of this team. We signed them to "rent" our cap space. The options to replace them are the highest caliber. Getting gritty better players does not ruin team chemistry if the chemistry is Jalen, Amen, Tari, Jabari, Alpi, Ime, Cam, Reed all loving each other and growing together. These guys want to win and securing their future and giving them the full commitment to win now is an affirmation of their greatness. You are telling them we believe in you and the future is today. You are our guys. Sometimes the future starts slow and sometimes it smacks you in the face. Forget the schedule. The future is not guaranteed. Opportunities are not guaranteed. Strike now.
