This applies all loans/grants to the private sector. Jesus hes causing as much uncertainty and havoc as he possibly can. This also includes school programs the government sponsors as well.

His cultists will get the hardest as red states rely on the government the most.

That's literally - all federal spending.

Let's see, stop all federal spending, universal tariffs - that's Great Depression level stuff!

Congress can act but is choosing not too. So Republicans are handing him this power willingly.

It's not a constitutional crisis if Congress is blessing it. Really what it amounts to is Congress not doing its job and yielding its responsibility.

They might as well just disband for 2 years.

People need to stop using the phrase "constitutional crisis" - we already had that it was 2016-2021.

Spoiler - the Constitution and the people who are supposed to embody it weren't up to the job.

This is post crisis - this is just straight up looting, theft & destruction of America by a few pieces of ****

    Project 2025
Dictatorship has been the plan for a minute

The POST Trump era will be an even bigger sh*t show
*IF* Trump does all he plans . . . who succeeds the 78 yr old president
and will they likewise be a Strong Man Dictator?

Can JD Vance hold it down? Will he be replaced by someone hand picked by Trump?
    Musk Maybe?

    ======== Google Says:
After Adolf Hitler's suicide in April 1945, Admiral Karl Dönitz became the head of state of Nazi Germany. Dönitz was the head of the German navy and held the position until Germany surrendered to the Allies.
    Explanation
    • Hitler's will
In his final will, Hitler named Dönitz as his successor and the new Reichspräsident. He also named Joseph Goebbels as the new Chancellor.
    • Dönitz's role
Dönitz was a German naval officer who created the U-boat fleet during World War II. He was loyal to Hitler and appointed over party leaders who had considered surrendering to the Allies.
    • The Flensburg Government
Dönitz led the Flensburg Government, a rump government that lasted for about three weeks after Hitler's death. The government's authority was limited to areas where Nazi forces still controlled.
    =========

So even if hand picked by Trump . .. JD may not have the stones to hold it

Since we know Congress will just sit there and take it, just considering the damage. The agencies are supposed to provide an explanation for why funding should continue by Feb 10 (a terribly short amount of time for department lawyers to look at everything), but that doesn't necessarily mean funding restarts then.

He will get away with a pause, but Schumer is right that a lot of the paused funding is explicitly required by law and even if Congress doesn't compel him to restart funding, the courts will eventually do it. So my expectation is that 80% of the paused funding starts flowing again in a month (to bury the story), and then there will be a long tail of programs that have to fight to get their dollars back in anonymity -- and some never will. And Trump will just wave off whatever economic turmoil he'll cause in the meantime and be rationalized by his voters. I did hear of a friend of a friend getting experimental treatment who will now die a painful death in a year or two if funding isn't restarted. Ain't that nice.

Yes. That is the crazy thing. He isn't taking their power so much as they are surrendering their power without even a fight.

    Think of the children.

    Jokes aside ...

R Talking Heads are saying that they will happily pay more coffee in support of the Trump Presidency. You know, the same set of people who were completely undone about inflation during the Biden Presidency.

something something DEI something something Woke something something Communist Left something something CRT something something Green New Deal something something

Anybody actually expecting Trump to explain what his Project 2025 crew are doing are fools. Trump does not understand policy. Trump also will somehow blame this shitshow on the Ds and walk on.

Trump to freeze federal aid, likely causing widespread disruption

The White House is pausing federal grants and loans starting on Tuesday as President Donald Trump's administration begins an across-the-board ideological review of its spending.

The decision by the Republican administration could affect trillions of dollars and cause widespread disruption in health care research, education programs and other initiatives. Even grants that have been awarded but not spent are supposed to be halted.

"The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve," said a memo from Matthew Vaeth, the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget.

The pause takes effect at 5 p.m. ET, and it's unclear from the memo how sweeping it will be. Vaeth said that all spending must comply with Trump's executive orders, which are intended to undo progressive steps on transgender rights, environmental justice and diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, efforts.

Vaeth wrote that “each agency must complete a comprehensive analysis of all of their Federal financial assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities that may be implicated by any of the President’s executive orders."
