That's what I thought at first.... lol... I was like did Demeco get fired??? Or was Tomlin fired by PIT and wanted a DC gig??
If this is legit, Mr. Tomon was a wild guy in college #hoyasaxa https://thehoya.com/uncategorized/junior-arrested-for-car-theft/
I wonder if there was any strategizing in terms of the upcoming World Cup in 2026 and NRG being one of the venues? Not sure how much the Texans themselves are involved in the event, but it seems like a having a guy with some international experience would come in handy if needed.
Do we seriously think they'll try for one soon? Honest question. I'm ignorant to this, living out of town.
Reliant / NRG is 20+ years old,,, stadiums usually run 25 - 30 years now Astrodome space is sitting across the parking lot
I think they're tired, tired of the astrodome bullshit, tired of outdated facilities and the county stonewalling them on repair cost, tired of the rodeo and tired of being renters that have no say on how the building is used thus not profiting at all from non-football events. I think the Texans are looking at At&t stadium and Sofi and the Death Star in Vegas and thinking they could build their own money printing machine here. The lease expires in seven years, it takes 2-3 three years to build a stadium, so they'll start pushing within the next two to three years. Palmetto Trust already owns a lot of land in and around Houston, it's inevitable
I'm not against the McNair's getting the money and perks from a new stadium, as long as they pay for said stadium.
Texans: We want a new stadium! Fans: We wand a Lombardi Trophy! Me: What are the odds of either of those things happening in my lifetime?
