It's a mental thing also. I don't think he trust that shot as much. Especially with his recent free throw struggles. It will come with time but he's only 22.

One thing about Sengun fans. They have no sense of humor. In all seriousness though - wouldn't you be happy if Amen exploded into a super star and this did become his team? Does Sengun have to be the best player on the team or Sengun fans turn into a pumpkin at midnight or something?

By the way, how long before the Turks start ganging up on Amen?

    That was a joke?

I don’t think saying that “this is Amen’s team” is a joke. Do you?

Very well could be Amen’s team going forward, hence my seeking of discourse. I though you might have more to offer! Alperen fans should be thrilled, because Amen was made in a lab to cover Alperen’s deficiencies, and vice versa.

The most gangbanged player in the history of this website has been Alperen Sengun, just to be clear. I was here long before the Turks arrived, and I will be here long after they are gone. (Hopefully)

Literal hit pieces from inside sauces posted on the front of Clutchfans. Poor guy was 19-20 and playing under Stephen Silas with a KPJ and rookie JG backcourt (Hell?). I won’t run through all the rest of it, but I certainly haven’t forgotten.

If you want to blame the ride or dies that have been riding for a Houston drafted stud, be my guest. All reasonable Houston Rockets fans I know are thrilled to have all of these guys.

Yeah I was talking about the annoying Jalen fans and annoying Sengun fans where you can't say any kind of criticism against their player or they go apeshit.

Of course it's not Amen's team - one game doesnt mean ****. Why do I even need to explain that?

Maybe Alperen gets there at some point, but there are better players at his position in the West for All-Star. Just look at tonight's box scores.

    Sabonis: 21pts/22rbs/10assists
    Jokic: 33pts/12rbs/14assists
    AD: 43pts/23 rebounds.

He plays inconsistently and soft at times, gets taken out of the all defensive lineups, but the most frustrating thing as of late is not hitting crucial free throws.

Jokic and AD I am with you. HOFers in their primes.

Sabonis is a great system player that sees ZERO double teams and plays shoddy defense at the rim. I like Sabonis, but I’d take Alperen to build a team all day long.

Sabonis, when he plays like this has real impact but really needs that kind of stat line or something close to that to have real positive impact. Maybe the first time he has true impact in years is this season .

I dont know why guys start a dick race between Amen, Jalen and Alpi! This guys try to be a team and every player on the Roaster also Fred or Dilon are sometimes Matchwinner! Important is not that any of the player got good stats and Houston lose the game, its important to win as a team! Houston is a team! They are in my opinion right now a Contender for the Championship! You must beat this guys on a Best of 7!! Thats not easy for anyone of the other Contenders! That will be for me no surprise if the Rockets win the Championship this year! So this not Amen´s,Jalen´s or Alpi´s Team! Its the Team of everyone! Thats how they win so much games! If thi players starts discuss like you who is the best player... Then good night! So this Kids read all things at the Social Media so stop righting ****!

I also wouldn't be mad if he doesn't become an all star this season. But these guys are in their prime and Sabonis/AD played against two of the worst teams in the league, Jokic lost against Bulls. Alpis stats weren't that impressive but we beat the Celtics.

This is also without Wemby playing tonight, the point was that there are some very good players in the West at the position. I love Alperen, and think he will continue to improve, but also don't know if he is going to be some sort of perennial all-star that we can call a franchise player. I think he can maybe get to at least 1 all star game at some point, but as long as Wemby is around that starting position is likely going to be going to him or Jokic.

I see Alperen as being closer to Sabonis than to Jokic/Wemby status. Hopefully he improves beyond that, but as of now i think that is the level of player he is.

I really think the main point here is getting lost in everything. The Rockets are a team in the truest sense. Different guys step up at different moments/games and that’s what you need in order to win.

I could give two sh*** on who is the best player as long as they continue to play together and win as a team.

Fun as hell watching this team grow up before our eyes while winning.

All you suckholes who want to argue who is better while the team wins is dumb. Enjoy the damn ride and appreciate the staff and roster as they continue chopping down giants.

I agree! There is no best player in this Roaster! This is a Team! A real Team! Rocket Fans must enjoy that they got a very very strong Team and not a one man show! Every night are 2 guys leading the Rockets to win! I enjoy that! I wake up in the night in germany and watch the games and i really enjoy it, that our Team is winning against every Contenders!

While I understand this sentiment and I am not saying you are wrong. At 22 he is closer to Jokic at 22 then Sabonis at 22. He is much better then Sabonis at 22. I even think he is already better than Sabonis currently is. I have no Idea how much he will continue to grow. I do not think he will reach Jokic status, but that doesn't mean he cannot become a star.

I think that the Duo of Sengun and Thompson will be amazing going forward. Our future looks bright.

The thing is, even in a non-shooting night he opens up a lot of oppotunities for team mates.
It is easier for Brooks to find open looks, Amen to cut along the space that AlP opens up.

He is sometimes pretty lazy with the transition tough, walking or taking his time to move to the half court.

Not worried though, Boston literally had twin towers inside. I would like to see a 7 games series, where Kornet and Porzingis try to match the pyhsicality. As for AlP, i am sure next year he will be even more stronger.

By the way, I think we have two franchise players now - Alpi and Amen. When I started this thread, we didn't have Amen. Amen is now showing he can be the second franchise player.

I changed the thread title to reflect that, but it got changed back (not by me).

    Fine.
