Yao's top priority should be to stop getting the ball stolen.

He's covering his ass. China would be mad if he said anything else.

What else do you want him to say? That he wants to defect and couldn't care less about China?

The fact that someone even started this thread is ridiculous. You're not actually questioning the fact that he wants to win a medal for his country over an NBA Championship, are you??

Guys, in his auto bioagrahy he said he has equal priority when it comes to earning an NBA championship and the gold in the olympics, so of course he just saying that to show a greater patriotism in his homeland.

Um, have you guys every thought that Yao actually does think his top priority is getting an NBA gold medal? Not trying to get political or into any of that "patriotic" stuff, but in the NBA (and with TMac's help) it is quite achievable for him to get an NBA championship; yet on the other hand, I don't foresee China winning an Olympic basketball gold anytime soon. So it is conceivable that it would mean more to Yao if they won?

[sarcasm] Damnit, let's trade his @$$ right now. This dude has the NERVE to put his own selfish, self-gratifying COUNTRY'S goals ahead of a city in a foreign country. TRADE HIS @$$ NOW!!! [/end sarcasm]
