WAR- SMAR he wasn't good with the Dodgers. He was passable with the Stros. He's old and declining big time, so I would expect your WAR numbers to reflect age related decline. Also He's no longer a CF, but a decent RF.
Comparing Pressly and Harris is crazy. Strikeout, single, bloop single, another strikeout. He should have been out of the inning with the game tied. Instead he walks the next guy and they bring in Hader, game blows up, series over. It wasn’t a good outing but he has generally been nails in every postseason since he got here. Hader doesn’t have that track record to fall back on.
If the Astros traded one of the key pieces of their golden age and created a hole in their high-leverage reliever options to bring back Jason Heyward, Dana Brown better wear a fire r****dant suit to every home game at Minute Maid Park to deal with all the heat he would get. No chance that’s the case.
It was a Crazy 8th inning to look back on it. Josh Hader should've pitched the 8th, nothing but Left Handed Batters that inning. Karma always bites back.
Wish he and his family nothing but the best in chi town. Some great memories in an Astros uni. But go 'Stros.
No. I think that the Astros will use the money freed up by the Pressly trade for a better option. There may not be any money left after that to add more OFs via FA ... which means your starting 2025 Astros RF may be Pedro Leon :s Leon has the minor experience playing RF and has one of the one best OF arm in the system. I do not know what the Nerd Cave thinks of Leon's MLB prospects, but we may find out real soon. As an alternative, the Astros could trade for a price controlled RF (price controlled since they do not want to take on more salary than they have to) which would likely be expensive in terms of high ranked prospects.
I'm thinking thinking they let things play out and if things dont go well they will make a deal at the deadline.
Polanco? Arenado? Bregman? Hays? Verdugo? Grichuk? Do they go back over and sign a veteran starter? Lots of option - it’s a long shot but Flaherty is out there too.
dumping Pressly for anybody on that list but Bregs and going over CBTisnt worth it. Can’t imagine it.
Arenado would be the only other one, and he’s not an Astros’ legend. Plus, he had his chance to join the team last month and declined.
