Sending money back?…….”low level prospect”?……..thought this was supposed to be a salary dump to create cap space. Sounds like that’s not what happened so “low level prospect” doesn’t make a lot of sense does it?
Why? They can roll the ball back into the infield after they catch the ball.... They won with 2 of the 3 same players... So if your point is they can't win without Tuck, then there would be no reason to have traded him.
I'm not talking about Tuck. I'm OK with him being traded, the point is that you cant win with 3 rag arm OF'ers. Heck Gamel would be an upgrade at this point. Just Imagine how many singles turn into doubles and doubles turn into triples. It's the little things that cost teams games. You could live with Altuve in LF and Chas in CF, but you cant have 3 rag arm OF'ers.
We traded Martinez to Arizona. If we don't sign a reliever then we will see an open competition in camp from the likes of VanWey, Ort, King, Souza, etc. Maybe we bring back Graveman (assuming he's finally healthy) or Neris on the cheap to round out the bullpen.
True but he can play OF better than anyone else on the team. Defensive replacement and lefty bat I could see the Astros going that route.
Heyward has the arm to play RF and can play CF in a pinch. This fits what the Astros need. Heyward made $9 million last year (and posted 1.2 WAR), so that should be about what he gets this offseason. This might be a little too rich for the Astros.
They were never getting a starting OF back from Chicago. They really like the prospect they got back - a pitcher. Return is better than what I expected but they paid more money to Chicago than I expected.
