He needs to be getting more pg reps. His downhill and 1v1 attacks are getting better. I promise you we're not missing out anything with the walk it down slow FVV approach.
He is like Penny Hardaway and Dennis Rodman. His size and athleticism don't even really make sense, and then he just has a nose for the ball. I would say right now he'd be my least favorite person to see across from me if I had the ball.
Yes. Just a couple of things he needs to work on in his attack. First, tighten the handles. He gets poked a lot. Second, jump with better timing. Sometimes he mistimes the jump, going up with the wrong foot or starting jumping too close to the basket. He has long arms and elite body control. A lot of times he can still finish. Sometimes he could have got and-1 but only got two FTs because the angle was too awkward to finish cleanly.
With Amen in the line up we been running a lot more. I bet if you check FVVs usage stats, his numbers are down from the beginning of the season. Thank goodness, his pace sometimes kills the team, playing fast is it forte.
Those usage numbers sort of back up something I’ve noticed about FVV since Amen entered the starting lineup — he’s focused more on resetting the pace rather than setting it, if that makes sense. When things are chaotic, he slows them down. When the team is hot, he takes a backseat. Hence why his recent usages rates are all over the map.
When do they announce the Rising Stars teams? I want Amen to make the Sophomore squad and lead them to a win over the rookie team and 2 of the all star teams.
Don't worry. The only way Amen doesn't make the sophomore team is if the coaches pick him as an allstar reserve.
Wemby, Amen, Ausar, Bilal, Anthony Black...The rookie team is gonna get locked down, bullied and destroyed. They might struggle to score 50 for the entire game if the Sophomores are serious.
That's what I figured, but they may have trouble scoring. The real battle will be when they face one of the 3 all star teams.
