The means Jerod Johnson is gone pretty much. They were ripping into him after CJ exit press interview.
Not necessarily. They may feel it’s important to have some continuity for CJ, and CJ apparently really likes Johnson.
I was thinking maybe they delayed it to see if he would get another job offer and he could bow out quietly, the way the team played this year and the presser where Ryans didn't exactly give him a vote of confidence was a good tell........................what a glorious FRIYAY!!!!
That's what I'm feeling too, if he wasn't fired today he's staying. Firstly for continuity and secondly they're bringing in a vet and they want Jerod to unlearn all the bullshit Bobby taught him so he has an actual future in the league.
Chip Kelley already won at Ohio State. He has nothing more to prove there and he doesn't want to be a HC anymore. Taking the Texans OC is the next and only real step up for him. Any OC that we hire, especially if it's a young hot shot candidate, will be leaving in 1-2 years anyway if they are good at turning around the offense. I want someone like Chip who does not have HC aspirations.
I think Bobby has a future. He just wasn’t ready. Honestly, CJ is probably the worst thing that could’ve happened to Bobby: it threw all patience and learning curves out the window. If this was the team we thought it was going to be - a slower, harder rebuild - you tolerate the growing pains with a new OC. But once they realized they had their quarterback, everything accelerated. There is now an urgency to strike, and they couldn’t wait for Bobby to figure it out But he’s a very smart guy, and I think he will figure it out when he gets another chance down the line.
Stole the words right out of my mouth! Wow! They did it! They actually fired him! I have to take L on that one.
I didn't say Bobby didn't have a future, he's going to have a new job by Tuesday at the latest, I think if you fire Jerod right now he's going to disappear and that's not his fault, he's a first time qb coach and yeah he had guys like Lazar and McDaniels but he would have and will benefit greatly from a veteran offensive coordinator
bitter ice water, pretty sure Popovich was fired too and no Jerod Johnson is not an oc candidate, not if DeMeco is planning to be here long term
As I said, I totally agree with you. My point was that it would be interesting from a storyline perspective, not from a maximize the win potential perspective.
