Calvin & Rudy, Moses, then Dream... Only twice did anyone besides the Lakers get out of the West in the eighties. The 86 team, which blew apart...That was our most talented group, to my way of thinking. Folks should also keep in mind how we played against two dynasties. Those legendary Celtics teams were always waiting upon slaying the Laker Dragon. Although, had Ralph not gotten hurt, I'm convinced we would have won a Title there. (Probably more)

Should have traded Sampson for the draft pick that ended up being Michael Jordan. Can you imagine MJ and Dream on the same team?
I'm convinced David Stern dismantled that team to continue the Laker Dynasty. They had bigtime trouble with that group. In a league where cocaine use was widespread, he moved swiftly busting up the Rockets
The deal on the table was Ralph for Clyde AND the Blazers' #2 pick. We could've drafted Dream and MJ and had Clyde as well. That's 2 of the top 5-ish NBA players ever, plus another in the top 50.
Sampson was the prototypical Wemby.....a lot of experts say that, I tend to believe it has one iota of truth to it.
Weird thing about that proposed Ralph trade is, the deal would've worked out better for both the Rox and the Blazers. They would've had Ralph, who may not have had such bad injury luck because he wouldn't have injured his back fighting Jerry Sichting. Instead, Portland whiffed on Ralph, then drafted the even-more injured Sam Bowie.
