Trading Pressly and Caratini should be enough to give Bregman $156/6 and stay under the CBT. I also think trading Montero (with prospects) to dump his $11M could be possible. Swapping Tucker and Singleton for Paredes and Walker in the everyday lineup is a net improvement. Factor in a bounce back for McCormick and OF help from the farm early in the season in the form of Melton or Dezenzo, and this team could be totally stacked if they get some luck.
If Altuve goes to LF, gonna have to keep Jake M. He's gonna have to run down those balls in the LF gap.
We may see more of a home/away platoon rather than a lefty/righty platoon at certain positions based on field dimensions...
Should you really be shocked, though? The Tigers still have Javier Baez’s terrible contract on their books and Tarik Skubal needs an extension in two years. If they sign Bregman, they have no hope of keeping Skubal past the next two seasons. Not only that, but Bally Sports dropped the Tigers’ local broadcast contract when they entered bankruptcy in October and they were forced to sign a reduced deal with FanDuel Sports Network Detroit for this season.
Wouldn't be enough. That cuts $20M, while Bregman adds $26M, and we are already estimated to be over. I still don't get Crane's determination when even with Bregman we easily have room to reset after the season (unless the team is considering trying to re-sign Framber).
Cubs only want Pressly and holding negotiations with Bregman as hostage until Astros can convince Pressly to waive his no trade clause.
How much more money will Brg actually get compared to what we’re offering when you adjust for cost of living and state taxes?
Boras doesn't care about that. All he cares about are the bottom line numbers on the contract so he can show other potential clients that he will get them paid.
Considering Bregman and Keuchel are still friends, it wouldn't surprise me that Bregman really wants to show up to camp on time no matter where it is to avoid ending up like his buddy...
