Look at it this way, at least we're not the Red Sox. They have very little hope with their two aces having lost. The Astros will be throwing aces in 4 of the next 5 games.
sure puts us in a damned bit of a whole at home but...... if we can win 2 out of 3 or hopefully ALL of them then we'll be in good shape to win 1 out of 2 in st. louis course that'd be the ideal situation if we win all our home games..
The Astros need to put out an all points bulletin at local bar-b-que joints and Texas Steak Country buffets for Charlie Kerfield and stick that fat b*stard into middle relief. Anybody. Is Danny Darwin alive? Joe Sambito? I would wager the next person to throw out the ceremonial first pitch would do less damage than the fine efforts of Qualls and Miceli. Astros 213 Cardinals 211
Carlos walks too many batters and thats the last thing you need when you have Albert,Edmonds, and Rolen in the lineup.
Here is the problem with using Carlos as a releiver. Coming off the surgery, it has been noted that it takes him several innings to get up to speed with his fastball. It will also take him longer than a normal releiver to get loose and last, his recovery between outings would probably prevent him from pitching on consecutive days.
Do we have anyone left that we could have had...everyone is just slumping big time and it's annoying.
Not really. I've always thought that Redding could have made a good short relief guy. But due to the winning streak, there was never an opportunity for Garner to give him a shot at that role, especially since our other short guys (Harville, Qualls, Miceli) were having excellent Septembers.
Yeah they had great septembers and it just sucks to see them struggle like this. Everyone was loving our bullpen in september cause they were lights out. Wonder what happened all of a sudden. Just a huge collapse. We have honestly been winning in all our post season games from the start and just lost the games due to the bullpen. That is what hurts more.
Thank me by signing the Carlos Beltran petition please (if you haven't already). Also have you friends, family, co-workers, worst enemies, dead relatives, etc. do so as well.
I don't think the Astros pitchers have a chance against Pujols whose steroid juice seems to be kicking in. That guys roid rage is there during his unprovoked intimidating stares at the Astros players, unprovoked outbursts directed toward the Astros caught on camera in the dugout, and homerun shots that rocket off his bat like cannon balls. Scott Rolen's roid juice seems to be kicking in as well. Its going to be tough to not give up homers to these two guys.
The Astros have the Cards right where they want them, overconfident and coming to Houston. If we had a few more bulls in the bullpen, we would be coming home to close out the series. Should have gotten at least one in St. Louis. Astros need all three at home. Unlikely, but I will be cheering them on.
Not necessarily. They need to win 2 out of 3, when they go back to St. Louis both Clemens and Oswalt await them. Even though they'd both be on 3 days rest, we'd still have a shot. First things first though; lets win today
