I’m gonna be honest, and I’m probably in the minority but I’m fully okay in trading Green with Cam taking over. Especially if the package we get back is worth it. We know what Jalen is, we have yet to see Cam’s ceiling. I think with more consistent minutes and growth he can explode even more. Once again I’m not a Jater I’m just saying if the right deal came along, Cam has shown he belongs.
He has a very high BBall IQ, his role has changed from THE GUY to TEAM ball - and he is adjusting. DD
I think it is easy to see he's had about 7-8 great games and 3-4 stinkers out of the last 16 games offensively. What I don't think people have been seeing is that he's not been in there often when the defense falls apart (i.e., he's not the biggest screw up on defense right now).
Nineteen teams passed on him and only the team who drafted him drafted a better athlete. I'm not sure exactly what he'll become, but this kid as an athletic freak man. Crazy stuff he's doing.
Cam making Dillon Brooks expendable, especially with Amen, Tari, and Bari on the roster to provide good D.
Cam's been playing great since his return. His defense has lapses at times, but overall he's been solid on that end. His offense has just been great and he has less tunnel vision than before. He's willing to make the extra pass rather than forcing shots up. It really seems like he's getting better from game to game.
Cam is making steady. progress. All of the young Core 7 (aside from Reed and who knows)? are improving. Times are good. Even though we can't keep all, their trade value goes up.
Yesterday was such a weird game. Cam passed up soo many wide open shots to drive into a crowded paint. Hope they didn't break his mentality. He was playing soo well then he stopped shooting.
I actually like him driving instead of taking shots. Shots come and go, thats why Jalen is so inconsistent he keeps settling for outside shots. When he is on that is ok, but when he isnt like tonight it just hurts the team. One thing I like about Cam his offensive intensity is always there. Driving into crowded paint isnt as bad as you think cuz he gets hacked and goes to the line. It also opens up the floor for everybody else so it forces Cam to open up his tunnel vision.
It depends on the lineup he's out there with. He was the only shooter on the court. Amen Adams Tate all clogging the paint. I don't mind him driving with better spacing. I thought he should have shot at least 3 more 3s last night.
That lineup with Tari and Amen won us the game. The problem with telling a guy to shoot not drive is it builds bad habits like he will always settle for shots instead of driving. If you watch the Nuggets they have very little shooting with MPJ/Murray playing like scrubs but they win because they have lots of ball movement and paint attacks.
Especially if in the trade the return we get involves someone who can rack up assists (which might involve a 3-way trade; "straight up, here's our intermittent scorer for your point guard" is usually a non-starter.
