Cod-bomb, in case yall missed it. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/random-trade-thread-2024-25.323640/page-86
Oh nice I've been wanting Williams and Vucevic from Windy City, Stewart from Detroit. Maybe some traction there.
This is a nice and subtle deal that doesn't risk it all but could be a 10% improvement required for playoff series format. Very good deal but I suspect many teams have this type of assets to make this deal. For example, LAL would easily go for Alvarado if available and their 2nd is better than ours. That said, if Timelord can force deal to HOU then maybe you can swing it for same/less than other teams packages.
Puzzling trade target for the Kings. Are they giving up on Keegan Murray? I think Murray's shooting will bounce back and he'll probably end up being as good or better than Jones. What Sacramento needs is defense and Jones doesn't help them there.
I heard Heurter (I hardly know her) + Lyles + 2 FRPs.... I could see them re-routing Heurter & Lyles to TOR for a SRP & Brown. Nets: Brown (TOR) + 2 FRPs + SRP via TOR Raps: Heurter (SAC) & Lyle (SAC) SAC: Cam Johnson (Nets)
You know they don't have enough SG/SF's Huerter Derozan Monk Ellis McDermott Mason Jones Colby Jones lol poor Kings fans. I hope they're at least getting rid of 3 of these in a trade for Johnson. To be honest they just need Derozan, Cam Johnson and Ellis. Maybe an emergency 4th like one of those Jones kids. The rest is fat. it's time for them to trim the fat and use it elsewhere. They don't need Huerter and Monk at all. Logically they would trade these two for Johnson and balance out the roster a bit and not trade an unprotected pick. But nope - no one would be shocked if they traded Murray and unprotected pick for their 8th SG/SF tomorrow. Then they'll need a PF and have no picks or big net positive contracts to trade.
Small market teams can't afford to screw up a make-star-happy trade. That's what we've learned from a lot of small to medium market teams imo.
I'd consider it, if they would take Tate and Green in return. Then turnaround and trade Landale and a couple 2nd round picks or Williams. That would be enough until the off-season unless Durant becomes available.
Kings are absolute morons. Sabonis is probably worthless or a negative but if you could find a sucker for him and for fox, i don't see how they don't blow it up. I would be LIVID if i was a kings fan, and that horrific pick swap they gave up for a worthless derozen, jeezes.
Derozan was stupid, but Fox and Sabonis are good players. I think they want to try and be GS clones and go five out with Cam Johnson. Fox PG with 4 shooters around him. Great offense, sorry ass defense.
If you had sat down that summer as a Kings fan and thought to yourself "Who is the player who's skills we LEAST need on this team?" you would probably have midrange loving shaky 3pt shooting no defense Derozan on your list. What's your biggest problem a C who can't protect the rim and isn't a great shooter or vertical threat? PG can't shoot, need more spacing? Keegan Murray obviously not being used properly? Get DEMAR DEROZAN. And give up that swap. Sometimes I wonder if it's actually a genius plan by Randive to keep Sacramento in the news by making inexplicably stupid decision after stupid decision. It's SO obvious. They need a rim protector or elite wing defenders. The ceiling won't be broken without that. It was obvious before and especially after their first playoff run with Brown. That's all they really had to work on getting, they could have waited these two years accumulating two more picks. No plan whatsoever. Look at Sengun and KAT, previously Vucevic. It's possible to protect a mediocre but hard working rim protector these days and achieve a great overall defense. You just need a plan. Kings are being run by someone who is in love with idea that he understands basketball when he just doesn't.
Oh Lavine I don't believe. Maybe they talked a month ago. No chance now unless Green goes super cold again.
Bare minimum trade: Tate Landale 2nd for Olynyk Temple Olynyk can play some 4/5 and give us some spacing while Jabari is out. Don't know if it's enough to matter but at least you're getting spacing from the most impactful place (PF/C) and can play him minutes with Sengun against bad to mediocre teams. Would be on Amen/Green to do more damage with the opponent's rim protector out of the way some of the time.
