    Meh.

Robert Williams III injury history: Every ailment that's caused Williams to miss games throughout his career

Landale for Williams is an even trade imo. Williams is probably the better player when healthy but that is an exceedingly difficult dice roll to master. I'd bet Adams gets a few offers this summer.

Frankly, I think Jock is a fine backup big and his contract is SO team friendly it's basically its own asset. Portland getting a player who can actually show up at a reduced cost WITH the team options for another 2 years evens out any additional pick requests to me.

Alpe doesn't succeed with extended minutes. How we've managed to never really have a solid backup to him is crazy. I'd be perfectly fine keeping Landale and seeing what a Dante or other draft pick is capable of doing. I mean if you want to give up a second there's plenty of athletic but unskilled centers looking for an opportunity. Orlando Robinson could play idk why we let him go.

Yeah they wanted to develop Dante instead, right?

Well we seem to be in a need of a 3rd big soon. The likelihood of Adams and Landale returning next season is very low and a budget option sure wouldn't hurt.

Not surprising, as we've coveted Time Lord for awhile now.
The Rockets have needed an athletic, rim running 5 that can run the court and play D.
Now that RW3 has demostrated health... along with Jabari down, and Jocko useless...
Ship out Landale, Tate, and a couple of seconds for him.

    He's demonstrated what?

    Robert Williams 2024-25 Game Log | Basketball-Reference.com

BOTH Landale and Tate have played more games this season. And most seasons. Tate is a big reason why we've been able to sustain the losses of Tari and Jabari.

Two useful vets AND multiple 2nd round picks?

    Mind boggling.

Again, RW3 can give you up to 25 minutes/ game of interior D/shotblocking ..which we've needed...it's a piece we've been patient about, and, it's TIME.
He's athletic, runs the court, and is a good lob threat.
Time Lord's come back from the knee and shown his skillset again. Dude's dependable.
And, he's signed through next year. Perfect commitment.

Tate is worth a couple of second rounders...no more.
    So, 4 seconds and Jocko...

I'm not arguing that when healthy Williams is probably the best of the 3 players mentioned. I'm not arguing we could use a skillset like his.

He's got a cute nickname, but "dependable" is absolutely THE LAST descriptor of Robert Williams III. He's played 15 games this year.

yeah he wrinkles his shorts sitting on the bench.

People who keep advocating for this dude doesnt even know his play history. Dude even missed 65% of games this year LOL only played 15 games out of 43.

How do you know he wont only play for 2 months and then get shut down again? Anything you trade for him is a waste he is a walking DNP Injury. Theres a reason Celts gave up on him and Portland wants to trade him even if he is very good and on a cheap deal.

I had high hopes for Jock coming off a nice showing in the Olympics. I thought he would provide more and yet I dont think he's really been given much of an opportunity. I'd have to guess he's been ass at practice particularly on defense. Williams will bring in great D, but his offense and absolute lack of an outside shot feels like it doesnt really shore up a need especially when Jabari gets back. Our D is already really good -- how much will it improve? Our shotmaking could really use a boost.

Tate has proven time and time again he is a very viable end of rotation player. I have been impressed by his minutes this year. If someone were to get injured or we were to trade Brooks, I want to keep Tate through the end of the year.

Landale and a couple 2nds for Williams is OK with me, although I would be primarily trying to parlay Landale’s contract into a larger deal.

I really wish that we would attempt to extend Adam’s here and now for a couple seasons. I am wondering, though, if he is showing that he can be a starter elsewhere?

Dude already missed 25 games this season what do you mean he came back and shown he is dependable?

Landale and some second-round picks for Williams would be fine.

How is this still not tampering. Udoka talking with RW after the Portland game would easily be investigated. Unless, somehow, Portland gave consent.
