Musk has nothing to gain with expressing solidarity with Nazis. I get that it's really tempting to make that connection, because he is such a hated figure now, but it really doesn't make sense. He was either trolling to enrage people on the Left, or (most likely) he made a weird gesture because he's just really awkward on the stage giving speeches.

You are making a lot more sense than the hysterical people here. If you watched him during the actual inauguration, you can just see he is super weird with his facial expressions and gestures. A nerd on the spectrum trying to act cool...recipe for misunderstandings, quite clearly. I played tennis with 7 friends tonight. All Jewish (I'm almost the only non-Jewish person in my neighborhood). They all said they are not offended by it and clearly it was a stupid, awkward gesture, nothing more.

I mean he specifically agreed and called truth the idea that a group of people whose only two descriptors were 'Western' and 'Jews' were against white people. Is that inclusive? Is that antisemitic? Jewish communities that tend to be left-leaning and cast white people as the bad guys when it comes to race relations don't deserve our sympathy when they experience antisemitism. It was a profoundly stupid comment masquerading as something intellectual, and I don't know why Musk thought otherwise in the moment.
I don't know. I still don't understand wtf he was trying to say. What I do know is that he has publicly expressed support for the Jewish people many times. The interpretation that he would somehow say Jewish people are not white or whatever doesn't even make logical sense to me. Some are, some aren't, but again, you had to go almost 2 years and probably 20,000 tweets back to find one that could be interpreted as unfriendly to Jews.
You may well be right, but you could probably pull up 100 tweets and public statements where he expresses support for Jewish people. Again, I read the responses and some people were saying he was actually agreeing with the guy from Boca or that he was criticizing the ADL or whatever. Most likely it was just a dumbass throwaway comment he didn't properly think about. Maybe he was high as a kite. Who cares. I'm not going to dissect every little statement. If that's the worst people can find as evidence that he is a Nazi and therefore that must have been a Heil Hitler greeting, then that's weak sauce. Edit: In the same conversation, he seems to side with the Jewish people against Hamas? His comment "you speak the actual truth" seems to relate to criticism of the ADL. Not to whatever people want to interpret as anti-Jewish.
Meanwhile, in less than 24 hours as POTUS, Trump places all federal diversity, equity and inclusion employees on leave while pardoning the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers that attempted to overthrow the government, calls them people "that love our country" and leaves open the idea that they could have a place in politics. And... issues executive orders to end asylum access and birthright citizenship. Clutchfans' usual suspects: What's this hate and racism you speak of???
The ADL clarification appears to have been made a few hours after, likely after he saw the negative reaction to it. Still, the post which he called "the actual truth" was really just ******** on "Jewish communities" -- not the ADL specifically.
By the way, on Elon's support of the AfD in Germany: I disagree with him on that. I find the AfD distasteful. It doesn't make him a Nazi, but there are some actual racists in that party, especially in East Germany, unfortunately. As a German who is libertarian-leaning and conservative, I really don't know whom to vote for anymore. Every other party than the AfD is basically like a uniparty...they all enter into coalitions with each other, and even the "conservative" CDU is basically anti-USA at this point and, since Merkel, largely indistinguishable from the Green Party and the Social Democrats, all leftists. But I still wouldn't vote for AfD. I would love it if some figure like Milei (ideologically, not the hair) would show up and pull Germany towards freedom and capitalism, but I think the majority of the population is actually very strongly pro big government. I'm afraid that the only way things will ever change in Germany would be for things to get really, really bad first (a war or complete collapse of the economy).
