Media and the league has a new young phenom QB completely taking that mantle away from CJ who was the "it" kid for all but one year. Thing is it's not even undeserving because Daniels completely outplayed CJs rookie year and CJ regressed in year 2. We really had the chance to become the next relevant franchise in the NFL going into the season. It was right there for us to take, we were a lot of peoples sexy pick for the Superbowl. Not only has teams like the Commanders surpassed us, but we are back to being the irrelevant same ole Texans that no one takes seriously. I doubt we will have many national TV games this next year. The NFL ain't putting us on Christmas, SNF, Sunday afternoons anymore that's for sure.
They made the divisional round and are loaded with talent. They will have atleast 4 National games next season.
Irrelevant how? They're more than relevant. Chances are Mahomes, Allen, Lamar and Stroud will be battling it out every season in the playoffs and sometimes Burrow if those bums can get in the playoffs. Gauntlet. NFC doesn't have the qbs. Almost like some of you guys are hurt because the outside noise prior to the season and no noise now. Regroup and hope we can replace some of the brainless IOL. Maybe just 1 injured receiver instead of all 3 would be nice.
LOL. CJ didn't regress, Slowik did. Did CJ have the season he had in 2023? No. However, the. Oline and his OC not growing was part of the issue. You do realize CJ is YOUNGER than Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix? CJ will be fine.
After doing too much tv last year, I think he feels some kind of way. Cannot let his homey (JD) still all his shine!
Jealousy is not a good look. Good for the Commanders and Daniels. The Texans will come back stronger next year and show what they are made of.
One thing to keep in mind: CJ is one year *younger* than Jayden Daniels. He totaled half as many games/attempts in college (27/575 v 55/953). Daniels came into the NFL as a much more polished player. Stroud kind of flipped his first two years: his rookie year looked like a "normal" second year, and his second year looked like a "normal" rookie year. I'm fully expecting Stroud to make a jump in year 3. They'll fix the line; they'll find more playmakers (that can reasonably be expected to be healthy in January); I think they'll make significant changes in the offensive coaching staff...
How about he spend less time hanging out with Micah Parsons. Dude had a celebrity tour last summer. This summer, lay low, stay in the gym, get right physically, and mentally. Learn to take what the defense gives you (scrambling, or check downs).
What's your point. Fact: CJ shares responsibility for the offenses issues along with the OC/OL. The future is still bright because of the way CJ upped his game in the playoffs.
And get into the VR simulator like Jayden does. It's been a theme all season with DC radio football shows, Jayden obsessing over VR time. He even plays at 1.75x speed so that real life is slower for him to read the defenses. It might not be a panacea, but if I hope the Texans get CJ this equipment to better prepare for next season.
