Hmmm, off the top of my head: Calvin Murphy Rudy T Earl Campbell Bill Murray Fiona Apple David Byrne Elvis Costello Trent Reznor Laurie Anderson Morley Safer Dennis Hopper Robert Rauschenberg Irving Penn Richard Avedon Milton Glaser Stephanie Seymour
I've met Joshua too. Very polite. Seemed like he didn't like the attention all so I left him alone outside of grabbing a pic. I forgot Lennox Lewis. I liked what he did. He asked questions about his career and asked us to stay for about two hours. He came back and gave us signed gloves. Tried to give him money but he wouldn't take it. Offered us to ride in his van for the Juan Diaz fight. It was against Paulie Malignaggi. We actually ended up partying with Petey, Sugar Baby, Victor Roundtree (RIP), Andre Rozier and Mike Rella.
When I was a kid, my dad worked for Big Brothers and Sisters. There were a lot of Houston athletes that volunteered during the 70s/80s that I got to meet. Rudy, Calvin, Moses, Rick Barry.... The 2 that really stood out were Mike Munchak and Bruce Matthews. My dad became friends with them and we would go out to dinner all the time. They were both so nice to me.
Unfortunately the Chevy Chase stories are true. He just treats people like ****, on and off set, no idea what made him so bitter. TLJ also.
I never ran into a Houston Sports jackass...I met a whole bunch when I was a youth and the only a-holes I remember were Hakeem's 2 brothers.
Met Willie Mays a few times. I think he was possibly autistic or at least a strong introvert. He wasn’t a jerk IMO but he really liked to be left alone. He wouldn’t eat when everyone else ate and wanted to eat in private alone. It rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and claims from some that he thought he was better than everyone else… I just really think he was self conscious and didn’t want people staring at him eat. Hank Aaron was nice (I met the old timers in HS working card show events)…. Aaron was very old school and a gentleman but he wouldn’t put up with nonsense… Pete Rose was really nice to boys and young men but was a sexist POS. Would literally talk about anything though and genuinely liked to talk baseball and listened, but also was a hedonist. I think I already talked about Yogi, was very good to kids- but was a tough old man. JR Richard was nice and huge in size. Elvin Hayes was a normal guy who was down to earth. Would never ask for special treatment. I’ll think of more. Most are sports related but some other celebrities.
Queen Sofia of Spain Princess Margaret George Schulz Luciano Pavarotti Placido Domingo Yoko Ono Alica Keyes Carlos Santana Frank Sinatra, Jr. Sting Riccardo Muti James Levine Daniel Barenboim Sir Bernard Haitink Sir Andrew Davis Jean-Pierre Ponnelle Giorgio Strehler Maxim Shostakovich Gian-Carlo Menotti Haim (all three, at the same time)
never had the opportunity, sadly. I should have added Renata Tebaldi. Luciano and I broke bread together at his house.

Nice list. Saw Sting in Davos last year. Still ripped for his age. Daniel Barenboim was my neighbor in Berlin. Saw him all the time. Alicia Keys was my first concert after Covid (at the Lincoln Center, small private concert).
my experience with Barenboim was unpleasant, but he's a fabulous musician, with an fascinating story, particularly when he was younger, and his relationship with JdP.
i sat next to noel/liam gallagher at the sting concert in davos. front row. also im more ripped than sting. and i lived next door to daniel barenboim in berlin. saw him more frequently than someone who might claim to see him all the time. i saw alicia keys before covid at the washington center, a smaller more private event.
I started watching "Northern Exposure" just last week because I've always heard so much about it. I'm on episode 4 - it's ok, I'm giving it some time. This weekend the wife and I went out of town for the weekend and had brunch in a tiny town called Valley View. Just as we sat in the back, the ladies at the table beside us are telling the waitress that she looks like Juliet Lewis. Me: "I can see it" Lady: "Right?" My wife: "You look like someone famous too..who do people say you look like?" Lady: "Janine Turner" My Wife: "wait..are you someone famous, who are you?" Lady: "I'm Janine Turner" (She played Maggie on "Northern Exposure") We had a great conversation about lots of different things. Turns out she lives in the area and was very nice. She gave my wife the phone # to her organization and they are looking at scheduling her to come speak at my wife school and maybe even my daughters High School theatre class. kinda cool chance meeting.
more than a meet and greet but actually spent time and talked to them Superstarr from the Halle Berry song Tyler White Johnny Lee BJ Thomas
