So Elon who running how many companies and trying to run europe too has time to run DOGE, but Vivek does not? He probably got fired.

Also being for H1B probably isn't helping him in ohio.

If Vivek’s opponent is woke, transgendering kids and defund the police and fire department,
    He’ll win easily

I never take Vivek seriously. He's a snake oil salesman.

Ramaswany out 69 days after DOGE announcement.

Just 69 days after Trump announced the team, Ramaswamy is now leaving DOGE and planning to announce a run for Ohio governor next week. Musk’s ability to ice out Ramaswamy, who for a variety of reasons had irked some Republicans in Trump’s circle, is the latest sign of his influence in the incoming administration. And it presages an encore of all of the infighting that marked Trump’s first term.

Ramaswamy “just burned through the bridges and he finally burned Elon,” said a Republican strategist close to Trump advisers. “Everyone wants him out of Mar-a-Lago, out of D.C.”

One main reason for some Republicans’ frustration with Ramaswamy was a post he made on X during a discussion of H-1B visas. In late December, Ramaswamy criticized American culture, saying that tech companies hire foreign workers in part because of a mindset in the country that has “venerated mediocrity over excellence.”

“They wanted him out before the tweet — but kicked him to the curb when that came out,” said one of the three people familiar with his departure.

So apparently, DOGE was made an official part of the government by rebranding the US Digital Service.

Establishing And Implementing The President's "Department Of Government Efficiency" – The White House

The Digital Service was created by Obama after the ACA rollout had troubles with the website. It seems to be a small department and they just partner with agencies to consult with them on how to do their software projects.

Reading the White House press release, it sounds like they plan to do more of that. If that's so, seems like a fine idea but I don't see how Musk is going to achieve the massive employee cuts that he'd promised, especially in only 18 months. The order also directs the real agencies to each create a 4-person DOGE team that would interface with Musk's department. That strikes me as a good idea, actually. They probably already have their own departments to do this stuff, but you can probably pick 4 guys to wear two hats. And maybe those teams last longer than 18 months and can ultimately achieve some efficiencies.

The director of USDS is not Senate confirmed. It resides within the Executive Office of the President. There are some offices there, like the OMB, that does need Senate confirmations. If Musk is just doing what it sounds like in that press release, I don't think that warrants confirmation. If he's going to spearhead an effort to radically reduce the federal workforce as they told the press he'd do, that should require confirmation -- but of course, with Republicans in control of Congress, they won't be insisting on it.

I was on my way to a meeting with a governmental entity today, on a plane, long-planned, when I got notice that the in-person meeting was canceled because the government employees who would have attended it have been given a restriction on travel and public engagement.

It seems likely to me that the entire program will be scrapped.

While this is personally frustrating, big picture, I still think DOGE is the right thing to do.

I just wish they could have told us immediately when they got told. Basically spending all day on planes (now on way back) because of this.

I know, some of you will call it karma lol.

I hate to tell you this, but what you would consider a full-time job is something I can do while running a company, having a family, traveling the world, being on the board of other companies...and actually having real life friends. I know, all these things seem unrealistic and unattainable to you, so if someone manages to achieve anything, they must be a

    fascist

    because you

once read an article about the Weimar Republic

I also hate to tell you that you have more posts per day here than I do...

the recent exit of the jerk and other management team members, less than a week into Trump 2..0, lends credence to the skeptics' sneer

the questions is, in the wake of Elon Musk recent rebuke of Trump's highly touted AI infrastructure project, Stargate, it is likely that the former illegal alien will leave as well

Congratulations to DOGE for firing air traffic controllers and freezing the hiring of new controllers. Great job on offering air traffic controllers early retirement options when we already have a shortage. Now we've had the worst air accident in decades
