ClutchFans Game Thread: Pistons @ Rockets 1/20/2025

We lost to Pistons double digits. Lol.

 

This loss hits harder than most because of the following:

- double digit loss
- on our home floor
- mediocre opponent
- not a single player had a good game
- winnable game

If we had been destroyed and JG or Alpi had shown up... or it had been on the road... or a better opponent, etc so many factors make it less frustrating.

It happening on an afternoon holiday game just makes it worse. Hats off to those who have already put it behind them. I'll be there soon, but seriously I feel like we played perhaps half a quarter of good basketball in mixed states total all game, and somehow were still in striking distance in the 4th.

As much as the Pistons were just outplayed us early on, in the end it feels like we just laid over for them when the W was available. That was just an embarrassing loss and not at all we needed before this next stretch. Lol I'll need a stand up or some comedy to brighten my day after work because that was just awful.

 

Lol it seems like the board overall thinks everyone sucked today. JG and Sengun hit harder because they're supposed to be our dependable stars.

I dunno, it's exaggerated reaction, but is to be expected.

 

Missed the Game. Jock played 10 minutes; already knew it was a loss or a blowout win.

 

We have many bad losses...

 

Why Sengun keep playing shiit lately?

 

Par for the course, man. This team is still a work in progress and has not reached its final form yet. The strong start up to this point has people ignoring that this is still a developing team and not a bonafide contender.

 

Team 1 had 52 rebounds and Team 2 had 39 rebounds. Who usually wins?!?!?!?!? Who won today? Some days we get 60+ rebounds and some days we get 39 rebounds, I just don't know which rebounders went sleepwalking, or mostly the team went AWOL today.

 

Sengun becomes a lazy player.

Bickerstaff turned the Pistons around...they remind me of our Rockets last season when we had our hot stretch after the All-Star break...the Pistons beat us and we didn't show up.

 

Maybe two pages of ironically posted memes of Biden and Harris acting confidently like they are going to win is no longer wise.

 

Exactly this. It really just felt like the Pistons wanted it more. To the Rockets credit, I'm not sure if I have even felt that way after a loss this season. They've played really hard overall. It does feel like they're starting to get cocky against the lesser teams. Hope Ime breaks that habit real quick.

 

Cade will be in All Star because of this game.

 

He better! Had 1 person on our team had a great offensive game we could have taken this heh, small steps to a victory and no one wanted it enough.

Not to take away from the Pistons they played hard and admittedly got a ton of 50/50 balls, but ugh it was right there.

 

Onto the next 2 Cavaliers games.

Mobley and Allen will beat the **** out of Softgun.
