A center's success is linked with having serviceable RG/LGs. So that's pretty impressive for JP to grade out like this. He was getting love from the broadcast.

Malono shoved Lamar bigly after he had released the ball... no call

The lack of consistency is astounding.

I feel like NFL wants Bills vs. KC in AFCCG... and what the NFL wants...

Imagine we had the 1990 Oilers OL, or even better: 1993 Cowboys

    This is nauseating.

    Flashback to July 2023

The Texans and right tackle Tytus Howard agreed to terms on a three-year, $56 million contract extension, which includes $36.5 million guaranteed.

Houston also extended right guard Shaq Mason to a three-year, $36 million extension in May. Locking down Howard now underscores the importance of Houston creating stability up front for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud entering 2023 and beyond.

That was a really dumb move as our GM Nick.
    Really dumb.

2 days later and this still is a gut punch, this game was there for the taking and we could not get out of our own way. Boyd has made bone head plays this year but to open the game up like that was just stupid and pushing the coach thinking he did something good was just as dumb. The Will Anderson call to let the Chiefs off the hook and they turned that into points, that's what the Chiefs do, they capitalize off errors. The play of the day to me was Mahomes going down and flicking the pass to Kelce for 6, you just have to tip your cap to him. my WTF are you doing moment was the 4th and 10 with time expiring, I think they were trying to catch them off guard but that should have been a TO too talk about it.......IMO that was a play that sealed our fate. CJ played well in the second half, but that O Line gave up 8 sacks, why Shaq was in there is beyond me. I liked the Fisher pick but boy oh boy, he needs some experience and coaching up. There are no moral victories, but this was a hell of a lot better than last year..........As much as I hate the Chiefs, they know how to win no matter what, they will themselves to victories and that trait comes with time..................man this sucks

I just read the refs have already penalized the Bills , will be enforced on the opening kickoff.

How did we let Kelce beat us. The Chiefs did not let Nico beat them. We had to make Patrick throw to literally anybody else. Ridiculous.

    No Christian Harris.

    Henry missing tackles

A few plays where we went zone and Kelce found the soft spot.

These contracts are hindering any flexibility we have this free agency. If y’all think we’re gonna sign some big time IOL then I have some sad news for you. Best we can do is go into the bargain bin and pray to god that our OL coach and Bobby can coach them up like Demeco coaches up his Defensive players. BDN effed up royally signing his NE boy Trash Mason and extending Trash Howard.

I don't know if anyone else has made this clarification - but I wanted to try: the issue with the officiating isn't this missed call or that missed call. Those happen and, generally, are not terribly one-sided. They *seem* one-sided because we are much more highly attentive to ones against us - but, generally, games have missed calls.

No, the issue is the calls *that are made.* That's what is rightly drawing our ire, and why it's so frustrating watching Chiefs fans whatabout this. Yes, the Chiefs have legitimate non-call complaints. But NO TEAM is allowed to flaunt and stretch the merits of the rules so flagrantly *and* get away with it like the Chiefs.

The second unnecessary roughing call was, IMO, the most egregious. The Anderson hit *looked* reallllllly close, and I thought it was a KILLER call, given the Texans had stopped them on 3rd down. But the scramble in which Mahomes ran side-to-side, baited defenders and flopped to the ground like a ****ing coward at the last possible minute to draw the foul... THAT'S the **** that infuriates opponents. It's bush league. As was his pause at the sideline to again bait a defender.

So, yeah - there were holds and hip-drop tackles; Nico was clearly crushed after five yards (and may have injured his ribs) - I chalk those up to the nature of the game. But don't let Chiefs fans suck into a whatabout argument. It's the blatant stretching of the rules and the officials allowing it that's so frustrating...

I will be shocked if the NFL doesn't address it.

Of all of our playoff losses, this one and the TJ Yates/Jacoby muff game are the worst I've ever experienced.

We had to play a perfect game to beat KC, by our own doing we failed, but we were also deprived of that opportunity with crooked officiating.

Yes, Texans made some mistakes as far as execution (Fairbairn picked the worst day possible for his crappiest day as a pro, starting with the short ass opening kickoff, wtf), but they played clean football, and you can't tell me those crippling calls didn't play a significant factor in the outcome as well.

What happens if the hip drop penalty is called against Schultz? Maybe we find the endzone instead of 3.
What happens if Reid is called offsides? Kaimi gets a re-kick, maybe that one goes in.
What if we get an extra possession without the bs roughing penalty on 3rd down?
KC false started A LOT, only one was called. Those calls can kill drives.
KC was holding A LOT, I don't think even one was called. Those calls can kill drives.

All the scheming we were able to do to mitigate our weakness (pass protection) got neutralized by the refs when we found ourselves down late and had to do more pass obvious calls, which in turn led to the sack fest. The effects of the officiating is compounding.

The biggest tell that the NFL was biased was that not even one bad call was corrected by replay assistance, which is there to immediately solve open and shut calls on the field without the coaches having to use a challenge. The most egregious example of this was when Hutchinson clearly got a first down reception and they spotted it a yard and a half short, where the hell was replay assistance? There was Seahawks game earlier this season where replay assistance overturned a roughing penalty on a QB slide when it showed the defender didn't make contact, where was that when the two Texans hit EACH OTHER?

I swear it takes all the damn fun out of it when this s*** is so obvious. If we lose, we lose, but damn can we just get a game called square so it doesn't feel like I'm watching WWE??

Heard our own radio guys say that to avoid those calls win 14 games and host a divisional round. Yeah, that's not how it works against Mahomes' refs. Home or away. He is getting special treatment

Latino legend, Ocho Cinco, made a great point about defenders being so worried about getting penalized by a flop that they soften up. It allows Patty to navigate without fear.
Someone needs to lay him out for the good of the game.

I do not believe there's a grand conspiracy nor that we should be claiming such. Personally, I think it's a bad look. The issue, IMO, is KC bends and stretches the rules and the officials are not being instructed to penalize them for doing so. I suspect the NFL is going to address it.

The second unnecessary roughness - by rule - was the right call. We hit his helmet. The problem is that Mahomes baited the penalty. He juked and danced and then flopped at the last possible second: he was intentionally drawing the foul. It's bush league but... it's also legal. What's infuriating about it is the rule is designed to make the game safer and Mahomes is intentionally putting himself - and others - in harm's way. It's bullshit.

As for Anderson's roughing the passer - reallllllly hard to tell at full speed where Anderson hit him. I saw Chiefs apologists claim he led with the crown, which is utter nonsense. Right now, a flagged penalty is not reviewable. I suspect that is also a rule that will be revised. If you can clearly see contact with the shoulder first, the flag should be picked up.

I mean it's all you can do as a player. For what you can control, you need to go for the home field in the division round, or better yet, a bye week. The Texans lost to the titans, Jets, and blew a game they should have won against the Lions. Win those and we are 13-4, same record as the Bills but we have the tie breaker. Stuff like that is the reason why blowing winnable games in the regular season matters. The Texans have never hosted a divisional round game.

Did people notice their RT lined up in the backfield basically? That helps a lot as well, dealing with a pass rush. This is probably the closest i have seen in my lifetime to what the curry warriors got, and it really does cast a shadow over the legitimacy of what KC has done.
