Yeah, he's good enough, but not great. You don't need a great QB if you have a great offensive line and good defense though. All you need to be able to do is get 10 yards in 3 tries and repeat, all the way down the field, with a good mix of rushing and passing. We just need a great offensive line. How to we get from #31 to top 8?
Doesn't look like the best line in the league is making it any further than we did, but our OL coach is considered one of the worst so i assume he'll be gone. I think CJ absolutely has the potential to be great, and will be.
I still follow DC teams from my time living there. Quinn has stated in interviews that he never wants to regret and have thoughts of "maybe we should have gone for it on 4th down." He calls it being ultra aggressive (or something like that), but not reckless. I guess that's just a matter of opinion.
Loll he already has and with his play throughout the season and in the playoffs he's established himself definitely better than CJ
Sumer sports had an analyst who have a great interview on DC radio about the expected wins added due to all the 4th downs Quinn and Kingsbury went for. I'll try to find the info
CJ definitely was not great this year, but he can be and probably will be IMO. I'd like him to marry the game of football in the offseason like other great passers have. I've seen enough to know he has both the physical and mental capacity to be a top 3-5 QB in the NFL.
I'm just speaking from a qb standpoint CJ doesn't have the scrambling ability that Jaden does and that's ok but it adds a dimension to his game that CJ doesn't have and Jaden already throws darts like CJ does
Gotcha, it was a bit of a joke before this game....which coach would go on 4D first? Which would fake punt?, etc.... Reminds me of one of the initiators of the spread offense in Texas HS football...coach (can't remember his name, he ended up winning State Champ with much bigger school) philosophy was: Never punt, go for it on 4th; Onside kick after every score; go for 2 after every TD
Daniels is the best pick in the past 2 years. That kid's amazing. I love his calmness and poise under pressure. He seems like a great guy too. He isn't a bit cocky. Not only that, he's one of the most accurate passers in the league. He has played amazing in his first playoff games. When a rookie can come in and play against the best team in their conference and have a passer rating of 122.9 as a rookie they have a special quality. Poise under pressure. No mistakes.
It’s been one year lol. Jayden will get the same treatment cj did this year when he gets tape on him and the commanders have to play a harder schedule
I am happy Daniel’s is balling because CJ has lost all his aura from his freshman year and needs to get it back somehow. We really need a better OC. And a better OL.
I disagree. He has a much better offensive line, plays poised under pressure, gets rid of the ball quicker than CJ, and is a more accurate passer who can also scramble better. I think that kid's gonna do fine. He played like a Vet under the biggest pressure of all in these playoffs. You can't say he's going to do worse against tougher teams when he had a passer RTG of 122.9 against the best team in his conference.
I want CJ to lose the "aura" and celebrity, come back down to earth, talk no trash, eat a little humble pie, take some time off and have a focused offseason centered around football.
