The o line played well initially… then they adjusted where the pressure was initiated and the line was still shifting to block elite edge rushers with TE’s. coaches that don’t have the ability to adjust in game or at multiple points in the season are why the league is littered with guys who made a good first impression… and not much else.
They were down 9. The most he would’ve done was hand the ball off there. You only do anything else if you are playing a video game.
I didnt think we were going to win but I didnt think it was going to be that pitiful. We sure beat the hell out ourselves. Houston is the team where decent qbs come and they get destroyed. They have one of the most expensive olines and it doesnt show. Not many adjustments through the whole year to keep Stroud off his ass.
Yeah they can restructure and maybe move around some money but they only project to have $12M-$13M in cap space. (Just saying for all your wish lists … “I want 2 WRs!, a TE to replace Schultz!, a whole new OL!, a new kicker, a CB, a LB, a this, a that!”)
I wouldn't mind more oline help but I feel like the coaching staff is the issue when it comes to that unit. We've spent too many resources on the oline for it to be this bad.
No worries, your Texans have NEVER won anything. If losing and failure is all you have ever done or know, this is just who you are. Only one happy team at the end of every season. The true contenders will go back into battle next season. Road to ANOTHER chip. You will never in your life feel what I have felt. The confetti falling down on me in both New Orleans and Dallas. World Championships are the mountain top. The Packers have 13, two of which I experienced in person. OneTeamOneNation PackerNation!
Draft O line in every round. Fire everyone related to O line. Cut Fairbairn. Bench Al-Shair if he's going to repeatedly lose old Travis Kelce in a zone. Retool #2 and 3 receivers. Hope Stroud doesn't have mental damage from this O line. Hard fought season, with key mistakes from the same people repeatedly. Future can still be bright.
Very difficult to win when you're going up against unfair competition (Chiefs + refs). Clay Martin is the NFL's Scott Foster. Kudos to Aikman for calling out some of the atrocious calls, as well as Mahomes' late "slide" and his Lebron-esque flopping.
Special teams and inability to cover Kelce lost the Texans the game. Field Position on a few returns. Bad Punt. Missed FG that lead to good field position. Missed XP that kill the momentum. KC was playing at home and has the reputation. They were always gonna get a few calls. As bad as the 2nd roughing the passer was, it was was on a 1st down play where PM got 9 yards. They could still have gone down and scored whether or not it was called.
It’s pretty crazy… the Chiefs are the Warriors of the NFL. Mahomes is the golden girl prize of the NFL like how Curry was during those years. ****ing pathetic.
