    Sabonis is pretty bad defensively.

I’ll go Sengun - but I’ll admit that the things Sabonis does well, he is elite at.

Now…. his old man before he was injured was the best basketball player in the world.

    Sabonis is the better rebounder.

Sengun is the better everything else.

Sabonis plays for stats, I feel like Alp is more of a winner.

His girl is better looking too. Sengun is dating a 14 year old. Waiting for a shams bomb before playoffs.

    Sabonis at 22: 14.1PPG, 9.3 RPG, 2.9APG, 0.6SPG,
    Sengun this season at 22 (not over yet): 19.3PPG, 10.4RPG, 5.1APG, 1.4SPG

Also, Sabonis didn't start really taking off until he was 23, an age Sengun has yet to achieve. People are ridiculous comparing current day prime Sabonis vs. Sengun who is still developing and growing, with only 1.5 seasons under Ime instead of the career killer Sil@ss. Let's give it a couple more years, but it's pretty darn good that young Sengun is looking very close to complete product prime Sabonis.

Offensively Sabonis is better until Alpi figures out his short game feel. Alpi is better defensively.

Long term I’ll take 22 year old Sengun over prime Sabonis

Sabonis is a very good player, I'd argue top 20ish in the league, who is 28 years old and in his 11th season in the NBA. I still think Sengun will edge him out in terms of his entire career but of course he's not there yet at age 22.

It's not guaranteed though--you can try to compare seasons age for age and say "Sengun is better than Sabonis was at X age", but progress isn't always linear and one player doesn't necessarily have to make as big of a leap as the other.

Even still, given normal amounts of improvement, you would expect Sengun to have a higher ceiling than Sabonis.

Anyway, I know it's hard to be patient but... give it a few more years and then let's have this discussion when we see how Alpi's prime is looking?

Sabonis has a lot of years on Sengun. If Sengun isn't way better than Sabonis I'll be really really disappointed. I think Sabonis is better this year but this is also his 9th season. I think Sengun is already very close.

Sengun has a higher ceiling clearly. But Sabonis has done a good job of maximizing his strengths and potential. Obviously a hard worker. And clearly takes care of his body.

Sengun has added some strength but it’s not all necessarily lean strength. He seems a little. … fluffy, pudgy? lol not sure the best way to describe it. And a half step slower this year.

Obviously there are different body types out there and he may never be able to get to quite the Sabonis level regardless of his efforts. But… I’m willing to bet if you compared Sabonis diet and exercising and weight lifting compared to Senguns you’d see obvious differences.

He seems to be on decent terms with Sabonis. He needs to be picking his brain about his meal plans and exercise programs. I feel like getting in better shape could take his game to the next level. He can get stronger and leaner at the same time which should result in a little more quickness hopefully.

Needs to limit those Turkish Kebab and doners to holidays only ;)
