I would rather deal with ice than sludge Also, I didn't know that you and Manny and Rashomon were "boomers"
I don't think Manny is while Deckard, Rashmon and I have no problem admitting to being Boomers. There are a few others that I have as Boomers or were almost Boomers, but I will respect their desire to not be labeled as being that old.
Who's ready for more winter weather p0rn maps? Euro snowstorm starting on MLK day. Followed by low temps Wednesday morning.
This far out, it's hard to take too seriously, the Euro was also calling for 17 degree (F) weather on the 6th of January when it was this far out. If other models start to suggest something similar as we get closer to that date, that's when it gets real.
Other models have been hinting at this for a while as well. Ensembles have been trending toward cold so that it usually a good sign it’s coming. Models suck at forecasting temps, especially cold, down here in general though. It will be an interesting week to see how it plays out. The -EPO generally pushes arctic air down the Rockies into Texas.
Looking more and more like snow fellas. Probably the best case scenario all things considered. Ice and freezing rain would have been disgusting for the Houston area.
The morning GFS and Euro. Rare to see these kind of snow maps in SE Texas 4 days from an event. Ensemble models have less but still coming in with 1-3+ inches around Houston.
Mid-day runs. GFS has the Gulf low further north pushing the snow further north (but lots of sleet south of I10 not shown in this map). Euro staying consistent with a more southernly track which would bring more snow into Houston and points south.
so less likely for mass power outages because only southern part of state is getting winter storm? some how didnt lose power in 21 winter storm, my pier and beam gonna be so cold if i do lose power lol
Yea the GFS is almost always too warm in the winter down here. Like every time it seems. Winter Storm Watches coming for SE Texas shortly
