I am thinking about going in May. They have very reasonable round-trip rates out of Dallas.

for anyone that has visited can you let me know about your experience? Specifically what parts of Australia are best and why?

Fiji Airlines started direct service from DFW last month. That is why the fares are good.

I haven't been to Australia, but we did a 10 day vacation at Fiji resort this past summer (was a CostCo package) and it was amazing. You know how some places will have ads that show these picturesque views and beautiful grounds but when you get there it is never quite like they advertised it? Not so with this place. It was like a postcard in every direction I looked (at least on the resort). Easily my favorite vacation I've been on (and by far the priciest...but it was worth it).

Thank you, RR for serious feedback.

anybody that has been to Australia? I’m just wondering, which of the major cities are the best. If we do Fiji, we wouldn’t have a lot of time to hit everywhere in Australia.

It honestly just depends on what yall want.

City? Dive/snorkel? At night, in caves? Beach? Stupid adventure that might get you killed? Chill (that's NZ)?

It's not serious feedback, and probably not what you want to hear, but I'm a firm believer in keeping vacations low-stress and just chilling, especially when you're already in a great spot (and can save a few bucks).

It's been more than 20 years since I went. I loved Fiji. It was amazing. Some of the friendliest folks, scenery and ocean was amazing. Do lawn bowling. Play tennis on a grass court. Snorkeling and scuba diving are incredible.

Australia was also fun and very different in different parts. Sydney - big city and different neighborhoods have very distinct feels. Melbourne - I was staying with family friends and had kind of a different experience than what I might have done on my own.

Some small off road adventures were awesome as well.

It's hard to give specifics because there is such a wide variety and it's been so long since I went there. I feel like you can't lose.
