Because I believe people arent set in stone and can improve? Even if Sheppard sucks ass now nothing is saying he cant be a good player down the line. I dont hate anyone on the Rockets I hate scrubs and I love performers. If Sheppard is playing great I would be his no 1 defender like I do with Jalen or Sengun or Amen. Yeah people get mad at Holiday's 1/3 from 3 conveniently forgetting Brickpard was 0/3 just the previous game in a blow out win against scrubs. The next game is against the Blazers I'm sure Sheppard will get mins again since that would be a blowout. If Sheppard plays like ass again anybody who keeps whining about his PT needs a slap to the face.
The issue is that he's not a difference maker and he has no corrie future with the team, but he's getting in the way of developing a guy who does have a future here. It would be like if we were playing Tate over Amen and Tari.
I didn’t even know he played in Denver until your post…I had already stopped watching by the time he came in damn, he really did go 0-3 now shooting 31% from the field and 27% from deep on the season after 31 games…I don’t think I’ve ever seen a FG% that low after that many games
Ime gave him a fair shot earlier in the season. He even sent Cam down to the G-league... since that time Cam has come back into the rotation and is actively contributing to wins. Reed has shown nothing on an NBA floor that warrants play time and unfortunately, that's the hard truth. He hasn't even looked good in the garbage minutes when Nate WIlliams eclipsed his career high in the first NBA minutes he got all season the other night. Hopefully he can use the off-season to gain muscle mass and start hitting open shots. Luckily for us this draft class is complete buns so we don't have to moan about "we shoulda drafted _____". In the long term I think Reed will be okay, but I think for now he should keep playing as much as he can in the G-league and hopefully in the brief call-ups he can start to work through his rookie yips.

The thing that makes this all more absurd is that they didn't even send him down to get playing time in RGV after deciding to not give him any playing time with the team....so they just decided to waste his time and not seek to develop him at all. Poor kid got picked up by the worst possible team....that could have been the best possible team if they had a coach that cared about the future.
Yeah the Rockets are such a horrible team they only have the 2nd seed playing mostly 22 yr olds and younger. How dare the Rockets waste Brickpard's valuable time, clearly as the ones paying Brickpard's salary the team is entirely beholden to all his whims and wishes. Rockets are screwing up a good flow with Reed. Why in tf has he not been sent back down to the Valley. Reed needs to get back to playing comfortably. Not sitting at the garbage time end of the bench. Now this is what I blame the Rockets for. Wasting time and talent. It's just ridiculous.
