That's funny I've been depressed and trapped in my house for 4 months now with this heat, which will definitely turn to 5 come the end of September, and perhaps 6 depending on how frisky October feels.

Summer houses in the north, winter houses in the south, west coast/southern Appalachia year-round, or suffer seem to be the only options

I just visited my family in Houston earlier in August and whatever was happening with the heat there was nothing like I remember growing up. Still, the type of depression that you get from a lack of sunlight, short days, and snow in the winter is a whole different beast. Living in the PNW, you at least have the mountains nearby to ski or snowboard in the winter but 6 months of drizzle and clouds requires some steel. At least in the heat, you can still find a place to swim and have a cool beverage.

The last few summers have been around 5 degrees above the historical averages. It doesn't sound like a lot... but god damn if it isn't.

Also, the drinks are 5 bucks a pop now, and the pools/rivers are absolute sardine cans where I'm at. I'm legitimately looking forward to winter so I can hopefully enjoy the water without the crowd.

I get it, Lin fans are really mad that lots of people wear Harden Jerseys here but if they move back to Cali then they will see lots of Kobe jerseys
    It’s hard for them
    Really hard

the California transplants complaining about the food is kinda funny…bro, you’re in Austin

aside from BBQ, the Austin food scene is pretty mediocre especially in comparison to Houston

Yeah and it's not by people's choice. It's companies wanting cheaper labor...

Walking around in shorts year-round makes it worth it. It ain't for everybody.
