The Jimmy Butler to Milwaukee buzz is heating up. Butler loves Milwaukee, he played at Marquette, has only glowing things to say about Milwaukee and his time there. The chatter that his agents told the Bucks they have no chance at acquiring Butler, is just agent negotiating crap and possibly just outright lies from those competing for Jimmy. It will come down to money for Jimmy. The Bucks will have to dump Middleton and his 31.6 mill a year. We will see. The Bucks are near the most highly favored to win it all without Jimmy. With Butler? It's a lock.
Do you really think Glenn Rivers will win a lot.......that dude needed every position to have an All Star (Celtics) to win one.
Thanks, that is another thing, Doc and Jimmy are both legends from Marquette. Also, Dame and Jimmy are very tight. I am not even sure I want Jimmy in Milwaukee. Bucks are contenders without him, but just saying the buzz is heating up.
I'm trying to wrap my head around how a trade to the Bucks is possible with them being a 2nd apron team. Do you dump Middleton first to a team thats willing to absorb him (I think only Detroit has some cap space right now, so could absorb some)? Then after that trade, the Bucks fall out of the 2nd apron, and then as a 1st apron team, they then attempt to trade for Butler? But whatever salaries they would bring back from Middleton, they wouldn't be able to aggregate them with anyone else, so how does a trade to the Bucks work? Hoping @aelliott @heypartner @BimaThug chime in.
Bucks get Jimmy Butler Heat get Tim Hardaway Jr. Khris Middleton 2031 first round pick(via Bucks) Pistons get Bobby Portis Pat Connaughton 2026 second round pic(via Heat) 2031 second round pick(via Bucks) Bucks dealing Pat and Bobby gets them under the 2nd apron. You asked how it would work? That is one way it could work.
I think you're on track here. Apparently, the Bucks are trying to find someone (Detroit?) to take on Pat Connaughton's contract so they can drop below the second apron, THEN they'd try to put a package together - likely around Middleton - for Jimmy when they can aggregate salaries.
Jesus, are you still upset the Marquette and Wisconsin basketball programs are superior to UH? Get over it. Lmmfao. "Bucks are not contenders" Said no one ever who is not jealous and emulous.
Do you just like saying "2nd apron"? Perhaps what you are wondering is whether the Bucks can make a three-team trade to get under the apron? Yes. The Bucks can simultaneously move multiple players to multiple teams to get under the second apron. They could trade one player to team A to get under the second apron, and also trade 2 players to team B, all in one transaction. I realize like others here, you may be inclined to say I am wrong, but I am not. Be my guest if you want to pretend I am not correct if it helps you with your buds here. Not saying you are like others here, but I am just laying out ahead of time that I am not going to play the little hater games that are played here with anyone who doesn't live to slurp all over the Rockets. I am an NBA fan just like you, just trying to help you understand what the Bucks can and can't do. We will see what Jon Horst(Bucks GM) decides to do or not do by February 6th at 2pm CT.
How would you like to refer to it? That's what the NBA calls it. I am not wondering if you can make a three team trade, I know that's possible as long as your are not trading multiple players. I do believe you are mistaken in your trade scenario. You could do the three team trade and get under the 2nd apron (you can only trade one player), then do an additional trade and include multiple players. Not sure what the hell you are talking about "little hater games". I wasn't even coming after you lol.
I was just joking because you type "2nd apron" a lot. I can't make it more clear to you than my first paragraph, so I won't. I don't even really want the Bucks to make any moves at the trade deadline. Honestly, Jimmy is overrated, and a douche canoe. Liked him when at Marquette, really want nothing to do with him now. I like the Bucks roster. There are reasons the Bucks have much better odds than the Rockets to win it all. The Rockets are a good team, the Bucks are a GREAT team. Never said you were "coming after" me. I don't know if you are like others here, but I am sure you can read how some play little games here, I was just making you are aware I don't play those little kiddie games. Bucks by 19+ tonite over the Raptors at the Forum? Yeah, sounds like a plan. FEAR THE DEER!
If Zion Williamson just stayed healthy. My god, I feel like Pelicans would be a top team in the West. Maybe win a chip by now too. Crazy how this is Zion’s 5th season but feels like he hasn’t played anything.
