Rockets fans be like “thank God KPJ abused his gf and Ime cheated on his fiancé because they helped the Rockets greatly”
KPJ still makes a lot of boneheaded decisions on the Clippers but he's an okay backup point guard, which is what I always thought his role should've been with us. But the bridges are burned with him so no point thinking about it.
He would NEVER have accepted taking a back seat to his "little bros". He is an inherently selfish player, just like CWood was. I'm glad our guys have a chance to grow without any locker room guys like that...it's so easy to root for the young fellas we have right now!
I remember when they used to argue that KPJ and Jalen weren't all that different on the court. Then we should be waiting for KPJ to torch the entire NBA for weeks at a time. Any minute now.
I didn't think KPJ was that bad, I'd say his 4th season (last season here) was similar caliber to last year's Jalen. Jalen has clearly surpassed KPJ's best season here at this point so far in his 4th season. I wonder how Ime would have handled him if he weren't such a knucklehead.
Wonder what happened to his shooting, it's been godawful this season. One thing he had going for him disappeared. Divine punishment for his misdeeds, perhaps?
It may have looked the same for some hand picked period, but it was never the same. Jalen's ceiling was always higher and so was his coachability. KPJ was a totally manufactured player he was holding the ball as long as necessary to try to get an assist or points, those numbers were total BS. Just not that guy. He's an undersized backup shooting guard.
I know it hasn't been that long that KPJ was on the Rockets but I forgot about him. It's like I blocked those years from memory.
KPJ didn't grow a lot, he was already a near 10 ppg and 4-5 apg player coming into the league barring his violent episodes. His role just expanded with us and the Clippers put him back at 21 minutes a game. He had a couple nice 3 point shooting seasons with a historic bad team. All in all his triple double threat abilities were what drew the league to him. Harden, WB, LBJ, later Luka and Joker were already on the pinnacle.
