I give him a pass because he’s played well for the majority of the season. I hope he will bounce back.

I believe we need an upgrade from Aaron Holiday. I like him, but we need someone better. Amen should be the starting SF. Perhaps Tari can take some pressure off Dillon. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that he is struggling in Jabari's absence.

I’m not overly concerned about Brooks. I think this board makes too much of minor cold streaks. It happens, often for reasons unknown to fans (lingering injuries, etc.). Now, if the cold streak continues for the next ten games or so, then I’ll start to worry. But Brooks provides value even when he isn’t shooting well.

Agreed. We can give them 2 FRPs (Suns and our pick - if we have control of our 2025 pick), then I'll propose this trade:
Dillon/Tate/Holiday/2025 first Suns & Rockets pick) for Cam Johnson/D.Lo
We'll get another playmaker in D.Lo for this year's playoff run

Brooks was good for most of the season so I'll give him some slack. He has been shooting terribly but he at least always plays hard.

Ideally, no matter how Brooks plays going forward, Jabari returns and plays so well that the team feels comfortable moving off of Brooks and starting Jabari in his place. But that is on Jabari. He needs to step up. Too often he disappears for minutes at a time and it's easy to forget he's even on the court.

Dillon was shooting well the first third of last season and his 3P% plummeted as the games piled up. First 27 games: 41.1% from three. Rest of the season: 33.3%. Seems to be something of a pattern for him, it was also the case his final year with the Grizzlies. First 27 games: 35.2% from three. Rest of the season: 31.0%.

I will also say, just based on the eye test, his defense also didn't seem to hold up last season as it went on. He had that injury after the first third and his defense never seemed the same after that. I've been seeing some worrying plays lately that make it seem like he's having a harder time staying in front of dudes.

For me, I think he would probably be healthier and more productive (per minute on the floor) playing fewer minutes. Whether that's off the bench or he still starts but just doesn't play nearly as much, it might be for the best to cut him down to around 25mpg.

I'll also reiterate that I still think the Rockets should consider trading him, either at the deadline or next offseason. I don't really see him as part of the core we're going to have as contenders and I think his declining-value contract gives him some surplus value right now. Plus, we're about to have to pay Bari & Tari.

It's not just the shooting, his defense has been terrible at times. That Kings game further entrenched my view that he should be benched if Jabari comes back healthy. We seem to be missing him defensively.

in the end…. Cant pay amen Jabari Tari

one is going. Amen is not. Tari will be cheaper.

I would really hesitate to rely on Tari's health at this point

I don't think you can rely on Tari. Love him but what is his injury? Bari is shooting has improved significantly from start I don't think we trade him,

He is our most replaceable (skills-wise) but give the guy a break, he was awesome shooting the ball for the first 30 or so games. He's having his best season from 3 still. Works on his game obviously.

I think give him some time to bounce back. We have been playing a high pace and he's quite heavy for his position. The All Star break will give him a breather. He looks tired from trying to keep up with Amen and Jalen lol.

He's been so key for us though, this signing has been worth more than what we're paying him and his salary declines slightly each year while the cap rises. Just perfect contract.

Isn't Brooks playing out of position and matched up with PFs? That must take a toll on both sides of the ball (and why Uncle Jeff got inserted into the starting lineup against SAC).

Considering what Alp and green got from Stone. I don’t see Stone offering Bari more then either of those guys.

Agree. if you did a major trade tomorrow? Which young talent are you willing to throw in?

Brooks going through a cold spell while trying to guard bigger guys, the best guys etc and y’all start to hate real quick. All I need is the fouls to go down, for the rest he’s been solid AF. Guess what, still our best 3pt shooter!

It depends on what I'm getting. The quality of the player determines what I'm willing to trade. For Anthony Edward's I'd include anyone outside Amen and Sengun.

For someone like fox it would just have to be picks. Cuz he was not impressive yesterday not sure he's even worth it.

If phoenix wants to trade no players just their picks back cuz we have all the power.

I think Amen has firmly secured a starting role. Dont think Ime pulls him to the bench.

I think Brooks is firmly secured also as the defensive leader of this team.

I personally think Jabari should start over Brooks, but hes the younger and still improving player. Hes coming off an injury and its just gonna be so easy to "ease" him back into things as a bench guy.

Unfortunately I think Jabari has lost his spot in the lineup for THIS year.

I think next season Brooks will come off the bench and Jabari will start with Amen.
