Yeah, single game +/- is one of the most misused stats. +/- is the result of how 10 players--not one single player--played on the floor. I wished they stopped posting them. It's worse than simple boxscores watching. Although traditional boxscore also doesn't tell the whole story without context, it at least gives you an idea the player's general production.
Lmao Tough loss, but Sac is certainly no slouch of a team. Silver lining, came back from a 10+ point deficit and made it a great ball game. Where as yester years probably would've just rolled over. on to the next. Go Rockets.
Actually grew up in Madison. No worries, your stalking of me got you somewhat close to where I grew up. So, you feel the Texans are beating KC? Yeah, neither does anyone else on earth. You want me to stop in the Texans forum and state that fact? Why are always whining about why I don't stop there? It's basketball season. I have very limited free time. My time here is when I am in dentist offices killing time, or waiting for my vehicles to get detailed, or even sometimes watching a basketball game like last nite. Stay tuned, or read more in the past archives, you can find out where I went after I grew up in Madison through high school. Madison Memorial to be exact. Toodle-Loo!
Love the fight at the end, but way too many unforced mistakes. That is why FVV is still so valuable to this team at this point. The team will eventually get better and clean up these mistakes.
Yeah, it's even more prone to randomness than other single-game stats because it could be that the player's minutes happened to coincide with other players' blunders or hot streaks, even if those players performed well the rest of the game. I don't think it's really worth looking at for all of these reasons. Maybe for the season as a whole it can be indicative of something, especially if the player has been in a lot of different lineups.
Amen and JG have to tighten up their handling in winning time, one or two possessions matter, and that, and the refs cost last night's game. Well that and terrible 3pt defense...particularly by Alpi. DD
Wait what? Come on if the other team outscores your team by 20 when you are on the floor you are a big part of the problem. Sengun loses concentration or is nothing at the rim, he is a very good offensive player, but teams SEEK him out for a reason, he isn't good on D...... DD
Most of the points they scored when he was in the game had nothing to do with him. Derozan iso on Brooks what is Sengun suppose to do with that. We turn the ball over and they go on fast breaks. It was crazy how you watched that game and though man Sengun sucks at defense. When he literally made play after play after play to bring us back in the game. Rockets need to trust him more and stop leaving people wide open randomly helping. Not like Adam's has good defense it's just no Sabonis no monk no derozan means kings offense just sucks more. Adam's has 0 laterally movement anymore and he would get hunted just as much. You can see the team doesn't trust him and keep leaving guys wide open to over help it makes no sense. Just let him get beat don't give up wide open shots. Whole team just lacked energy to start the game. Outhustled for rebounds, not communicating.
He most likely isn’t even a Packers fan..just some dude that was probably banned from CF for bad behavior and is now trying to troll the rest of us
yeah he was bad this game but for the whole season he leads the team and 12th in the league in BPM and leads the team and 11th in the league in Net Rating
Can’t wait for the L2M report where they double down on bs and probably add some offense fouls on us for good measure.
Amazing take by the poster you answered to. If Sengun was bad at defending 3 pt. shots, what in heaven's name were the perimeter defenders doing to have their center/anchor often defending the 3. To me, the issue was with Ime not having Amen take over the defensive assignment from Brooks when he was being torched often by DeRozan. It was a simple changeup that could have made a significant effect on the outcome of the game. Sengun's defense, although wanting through many moments of the game, made a significant contribution to the comeback. Overall, the obvious thing lacking last night was FVV. Yes, him. I was critical of his game a few games ago regarding his tendency to focus on taking his own shots instead of setting up his teammates. He started setting up his teammates more during the last 3 games resulting in wins and higher assist numbers for him. Moreover, his value to the team is being the floor general who organizes the offense and defense which he has done well throughout the season. The team was visibly disorganized on both sides of the floor last night without him. The offense was mostly missing the spacing and ball movement, while on defense there was a lack of communication and organization. For all of FVV's flaws, he is the linchpin of the team. I am by no means comparing him to Pippen as a player, but his role is reminiscent of Pippen's with the Bulls. Phil Jackson in several interviews when Pippen was out with injury stated that Pippen was the Bulls' facilitator and that his absence was causing the Bulls to be disorganized on the floor even with MJ. I want to see how the team performs when FVV is back to see if my observations have any merit.
Agreed. It was actually fascinating to see the team without Fred as the security blanket. Amen's two turnovers were uncharacteristic -- his minute load is way up, so it's probably a good learning experience.
We're gonna have to eventually hand the team off to someone....can't have FVV forever. Guessing they're prepping for Amen to take over next year.
I agree we were missing FVV as good as Amen is he's not a point guard yet. He missed some wide open guys and had some untimely turnovers
That is just excuses, he is also on offense, he had the worst plus/minus because the team D when he was on the floor was non-existent, and he is PART of that team. Sengun is a good offensive player but his attention to detail on D wanes - and he loses focus...he was ass at the rim it was a layup line there, he got owned by Sabonis a ton - he is just not giving 100% effort on D.... And that is a problem for this team going forward, and it is a REASON we outscore teams consistently with Adams on the floor he shuts off the rim. It is fine to recognize that Alpi had a bad defensive game - because he did. DD
