Honestly today even my jaw dropped from this game. Perfect game. Still trying on defense while up 20 points and his jumper is falling. Still respecting the opponent and making good decisions, passed up on that second dunk attempt to give FVV a wide open corner 3. Forget the points we've seen him catch fire, but just the well-rounded nature of it. We're playing against a pretty bad team, but I just want to differentiate that he's doing a much more professional and mature job of putting away easy teams than I thought he was capable of right now. Has always shown flashes of doing well under more pressure. So hopefully he is a playoff-friendly player too. My gosh he just drained another 3. Trying to keep my expectations in check and not get carried away by the jumper being on fire. But is it crazy if he can make 36% of his 3's the rest of the season? That would stabilize our offense a ton.
Yes , Jalen has been better on defense , but hes truly getting a nice benefit by having FVV , Amen, and Dillon all starting with him , who all take the other teams better scorers. Jabari has been heating up too tho and the kid is 7 ft tall. Who is better and in what situation ? Between Jabari and Tari and the 5 guys starting now , IME has 7 guys that can close a game ( im sure you have at least 2 of FVV and JG or Amen in ) Before this hot streak from jalen and jabari injury , we were closing games without Jalen sometimes. Of course I also love Tate , but he hasnt played great yet this year. Needs to get more burn and get in rhythm more.
Even if he is streaky, he is playing hard everywhere. The scoring may come and go but he is playing the right way.
If we weren’t blowing out the Nuggets, I think Jalen would’ve gotten a new career high. However, I like that he’s saving his career game for a more significant occasion
Guy never stopped working. Changed his body. Upped his skills. Never head honcho body language or talk that isn't being backed up. Always happy for his teammates and team. Never complained about being hurt, about sitting, about not getting enough. Shored up his game. Now he's out there looking like he's ready to ascend to the stars and beyond. Proud of the way this guy has stuck to it, worked his ass off and improved. Jalen Green is worthy.
Easy to cheer for Jalen cause when he struggled and got benched he cheered for everyone. The kind of guy he is.
On an interesting note, Jalen Green took a massive leap in free throw shooting percentage. After this game, he is shooting 88% from free throws. In his previous 3 seasons, he hovered around 80%, but took a somewhat massive leap this season in free throw shooting. Objectively, Jalen Green is very clearly the best free throw shooter on this team, especially when you factor in his higher volume as well, so the pecking order for free throws is technically Green, and then Jabari. FVV is shooting surprisingly "poorly" from free throws, a career worse 81%, though there is still half a season to go.
And yet Fred still takes them a lot of the time...I think it's time for Jalen to take over free-throw duties
He really is balling right now. This is the player his over the top fans talk as if he is 24/7. I'm enjoying his current hot streak. Cautiously optimistic it'll come crashing down soon like he's shown previously. Whilst at the same time hoping against hope he truly has 'figured it out'.
This team is unstoppable when Jalen plays like this. I can't wait to see our games against Cleveland.
